Drake just lost to Bradley to lose a shar of the MVC title on the last day of the season. Probably wanna root for them in the MVC Tourney to steal a bid from the bubble AKA MSU
That’s a bummer for Drake. They likely weren’t an at-large before that loss so yeah, root for them to win the MVC Tournament in a close one over Loyola.
EDIT: I see they were an 11 on the Matrix so on the bubble, but after a loss to NET #170 Bradley I’m thinking not so much.
Mixed results for bubble teams on the whole tonight. UNC, Georgia Tech and Xavier got big wins to move them closer to the field. But Stanford, Minnesota, Duke, Drake, VCU, and Indiana all lost. I think a team like MSU has to be happy with the results tonight.
Drake is missing 2 of its best players. Don’t know if they’re expected to be back. But if the committee chooses a mediocre at best major conference team over them I will be pissed
Rebounding and turnovers. They are 5th in the country in OREB% and 3rd at forcing TOs. They’re +8% in rebounding and turnovers differential.
Oh, I would bet on it happening. It seems every pundit on the shows today was basically saying the mid-majors are going to get hosed. When the blue bloods like MSU, IU, Duke, UNC are on the bubble, you know they are getting in.
I guess I just feel like the committee has to have more integrity than that. Like are they actually going to be swayed by the brand of the team? What even is the point of the committee if so? Maybe I’m naive
They lost their two key players to injuries so it’s doubtful that they’ll make noise in the MVC tourney. Just bad luck all around for Drake
I have a very hard time seeing Hunter not being a huge mismatch for Baylor
Baylor is ice cold from everywhere
This Kansas team is really a legit quality team, too. Pretty deep roster of above average to excellent players.
Well you know, as Bilas has said at least 10 times, Baylor is not playing like Baylor because of the layoff.
I have not watched Gonzaga but watching Baylor tonight they don’t really impress me. I think Michigan is better than Baylor and right there with Gonzaga based on there early season resume and just from talent standpoint.
To be fair the layoff has impacted teams pretty heavy other than UM
If some of these very solid looks were falling, Baylor would look appropriately terrifying. They are freaking relentless on the offensive glass.
Baylor looks like a shell of their former selves. They were probably the best 3 pt shooting team in the country and tonight can’t hit anything.
I’m not denying that fact, just don’t care to hear Bilas saying it over and over.
It affected us, too.
For a half.
Michigan just being so well rounded makes them best team in country to me. They are great on defense and good on offense. They have so many guys that can beat you on any given day so much scoring balance. Maybe the biggest thing they are great at witch is huge in tourney is all five started are 70 plus percent from free throw line and 4 of 5 starters are above 80 percent.
Well. . . is Kansas going to blow the 10 point lead?
Edit: Nope.
