How awful is this last Louisville play gonna look?
Free hoops in Durham.
SIU forgot how to score in OT.
Kansas so far tonight: 5-5 from 2 (4-4 from McCormack), 0-5 from 3 (0-4 from Agbaji).
Baylor so far tonight: 3-5 from 2, 0-4 from 3.
Baylor shot 43.5% from the field and 32% from 3 against ISU in the first game back, so it looks like offense and shooting has been effected by the shutdown so far.
Duke-Louisville is hysterical. Every “play” is just get the ball to a guy, clear everyone out, dribble for awhile and let the guy with the ball go iso. I’m seriously not sure Louisville has thrown a pass in the frontcourt in this entire overtime.
Louisville should’ve wrapped this game up about 50 different times but they keep committing the most facepalm-worthy fouls.
Have a career game, Jalen
Oh they have! The famous desperation shovel pass from big to unsuspecting big is a staple
Big Ten officials would have thrown out McCormick for that forearm.
Jalen Wilson has regressed hard in Big 12 play. He went from looking like a great 3 point shooter to a below average FT shooter
I’m officially getting ahead of myself now and watching a bit of Baylor-KU, trying to understand Baylor a bit better.
Obviously a great shooting team. Anything else they’re particularly known for on offense? And what makes their defense so good, and how does that match up with us? It might just be the matchup, but I’m not exactly wowed by their post D so far here. But it’s a small snapshot, so I haven’t seen everything.
How exactly does Baylor defend Hunter?
He’s no Franz Wagner
Hoping Kanas can pull this game off and Baylor can drop a game or 2 and Michigan can climb to number 2 overall seed.
Baylor would try to swarm and heavily pressure the ball so there is no easy post entry pass.
I have not watched a ton of Baylor, but from looking at stats profile / the little I’ve seen.
- Elite guard play / shooting. Often play 4 guards who can all pull up and create
- Solid rim runners at center
- 1-4 switching (1-5 switching when Vital is at center)
- High level perimeter defense
- Pressure from the perimeter making it difficult to beign actions and forcing steals. Forces teams to ISO against guards
- Decent but not notable rim protection (unless Vital is at the 5)
Vital is 6’5” and fat. I have no idea how his block rate is so high.
They’re super athletic, no doubt. I just wonder if Hunter could cause them a lot of foul trouble.
Yes if we could get him the ball cleanly and keep spacing so they cannot easily double
Imagine anyone on Baylor trying to guard Franz
