Virginia either looks great or like total azz. There’s no in-between.
According to Torvik he plays less than 5% of minutes
UVA is going to run into some issues in a single-elimination format if Kihei Clark a) plays 90% of minutes but b) is literally zero threat to score or even attempt a shot. FSU has just completely ignored him when the ball is out of his hands and it is working.
Of course he scores 4 straight to open the 2H but hey.
Kihei Clark now has 8 points on 4/5 shooting in less than 5 second-half minutes and he leads UVA in scoring.
Duke’s dumpster fire of a season has officially exceeded even my worst expectations. K’s desire to not play this season is highly suspect at this point.
Okay now I look smart again. Phew
Don’t get why FSU is ranked so low. They are a great team with Final Four potential. People who discount Leonard Hamilton really don’t see the hill he’s had to climb. He’s made Tally a good town to watch hoop in. I’m hoping that NC and Duke continue to stumble; my respect for those programs is at a low ebb.
Yep, agreed. Florida State is very impressive tonight. I’d prefer them to not be in Michigan’s region in March. They have a ton of talent and seem to be putting it all together.
Depends on when you watch them. I watched them need a buzzer beater to send the game to OT at home against Wake Forest on Saturday. They also have double digit losses to UCF, Georgia Tech and Clemson.
They look really good tonight though.
Twenty-four in a row at home in the ACC is crazy.
Jalen Johnson of Duke opting out the rest of the season to prepare for NBA draft
Reading this saga was more thrilling than anything Cedar Point can provide
I thought about that Wisconsin game (if that’s the one that Horton hit the game winner?)…MSU games in that era were hard to judge because there were so many Sparty fans in Crisler - it was embarrassing! Great college atmosphere, but still, hard to give props to the home crowd when 50% of the fans in the arena want you to lose.
Good for them.
Will be real interesting, in the case that tourney opt-outs happen, to see who ends up getting those bids by winning those tournaments. Pepperdine in this case would be the potential beneficiary for example. Very interesting.
I was at the '03 MSU game - I remember Horton hit a huge three in the last minute, and Blanchard (who hadn’t scored all game) finally hit two FTs to seal it.
There were a lot of MSU fans there but they weren’t half the crowd, more like a quarter. But for some of the Ellerbe games they may have been 50 % or even a majority.
Yeah it was crazy how much green used to show up in the stands.
Interesting…
