Aren’t forgetting anyone. You could add Toledo to the bubble since they are right in the border
Along with football, men’s basketball is also beginning to discuss options, but the first priority is figuring out how to handle the football season, and the games that come with it.
Options for men’s basketball include playing in late-November, though that is not likely to happen, at least of now.
A concurrent January start with football is seen as more likely. This would again be possible due to the rapid testing. No specifics on games and where they would be hosted have been discussed in a formal manner for men’s basketball, but that is set to be discussed coming up.
I saw this because Dylan tweeted about it but this is one of the unintentionally funniest things I’ve seen in a long time.
If a dome stadium was involved near by that would have to be Detroit, Indy, Minnesota and Milwaukees baseball stadium.
Geo Baker!!! OMG…Someone do a health check on Andy Katz.
…did Andy think he was listing a top 100 and mean to put Geo at 99?
Colin Gillespie? Seriously?
Yeah that ones is just insane to me. He’s definitely a solid/good player, but he’s a 6-3 guard with average athleticism and average shooting. He had a 110 ORTG on 22% USG as a junior, with an EFG% under 50. Once again, good player, but top 10 (let alone top 7) is insane.
He was a 2nd Team All Big East guy last year, avg’d 15, 5 and 4 and will play on one of the best teams in the country. At least that makes some sense.
Even Kofi is debatable. He was great last year and I’d be over-joyed to have him back if I were an Illini fan. But how much ceiling does he have left? Is he going to develop a 3-point shot or ball skills this year? I guess even a being more efficient surrounded by better shooting is a reason to make the list…but #10? Hmm…
I mean I haven’t gone through the list of everyone to debate Gillespie or Kofi. But Geo is just absolute insanity.
Fun player, though. If I were putting together an “All Joie De Vivre!” top hundred he WOULD be near the top.
Oh good
Reads more like a justification for playing football than anything real.
a hostage situation
MBB is the only other sport that makes money. If there is no football there can be no other sports except for MBB, and there’s no way they can only play one sport.
It’s a dishonest argument they’re trying to make. Everyone knows football revenue is important.
They will still owe salaries and scholarships for other sports. The facilities have already been built. If the Big Ten and other conferences are set to play basketball this season, the Big 12 isn’t going to sit out for a year because of money. And if the Big 12 doesn’t play football this fall, they will certainly try to play in the spring like the Big Ten is working on.
I don’t get it
