College Basketball 2022-23 Discussion

Given he lives in Ann Arbor (I think?) I doubt he’d fly from Pontiac

Why do WVU fans even want JB?

Basically like an ideal version of an interim. We had this exact same discussion on here if JB would come coach here for a couple years if Juwan left us scrambling

He’s about the best option you could ever get making a hire in June.

Lol this is fun to observe

WVU sort of has a roster built for one year and it may fall apart without someone to coach it

if Beilein wanted to coach 1 year, and elide things like “worrying about 1 and dones and long term recruiting” and stuff like that i makes sense

but he’s not going to recruit I have to think

But I’m really really really skeptical on this, not sure a 682 follower WVU account has a direct line to Patrick Beilein, head coach of an upstate NY high school team.

Just simply - not sure why he’d by flying from Pontiac when there’s a private airport in AA.

I assume there are plenty of WVU fans who are still friends on Facebook with Patrick  Not sure it is a direct line, although it is objectively hilarious that Patrick answered.

It’s not like Patrick has a lot going on at this point though.

This doesn’t really make sense to me as far as Beilein. He’s a builder at heart, the one year thing doesn’t seem to fit him.

I don’t really think it makes sense in way shape or form, I’m more just building a theoretical case in my head

not that I really think he would but a low major in a place that he considers home would be the only vague possibility? place where he could just coach and do it his way out of the limelight?

or maybe the better question is, is there any circumstance you could imagine?

Like most things, I think it would come down to being offered a job. Feel like it is just getting late though given his age and the heart procedure a few years back.

I disagree with the idea that parts of the CBB game would have stopped him from accepting a job if someone offered a good job to him, but maybe that’s wrong.

The idea of a one-year interim job just doesn’t seem like it fits him though. I feel like any situation where he takes the job would be actually offered the job, not for one year.

Random flight from Pontiac, so they show up at the airport to stalk for JB. That’s “healthy” lunacy.

Really not sure this account is to be trusted but he’s now trying to say it’s being worked out between the parties

If JB takes it I think a lot of the motivation will be to get Patrick back in the game

one M board was reporting last week that JB is going to work at Michigan again in an admin/AD capacity so WVU interim coach would be a huge upset

Kentucky has been the conversation here.

Par for the course though, right?

full credit to Cal I guess, he was staring down the barrel of a big sloppy doodoo and he turned it into a top-15 team
