College Basketball 2022-23 Discussion

Grew up in Cincy and then went to Xavier and then was an HC at a Cincy HS while Huggins was at UC. Would be maybe a bit ironic but seems plausible Huggins has a good feel for the guy.

McCollum would be a huge roll of the dice. Could be a great hire but if that goes sideways, I’m not sure the AD survives that.

….Jim Calhoun? There has to be a Calhoun I’m not thinking of

Edit: ok, I guess it’s YSU coach Jerrod Calhoun? Seems not great?

YSU was a really fun team last year. I think he’d be a smart hire.

I’m generally way more into someone new and interesting than someone old and “proven” like Andy Kennedy.

I’d become a huge WVU fan if they brought in Beilein as the interim for one last job.

Anytime you can hire a guy that was mediocre at an SEC school for a decade and then found one good player at his MM stop, you have to do it

It’s in the Bob Huggins Is Being Forced To Resign playbook.

Step 1. Hire Andy Kennedy

Andy Kennedy looks to be at a good level for him currently

Gotta give them credit. A nice addition and got him to reclassify too.

WVU fans are claiming that JB as an interim at WVU is an actual possibility

I would absolutely cry

Sam Webb this morning said anyone who thinks Coach B is going to WVU is delusional. Said he left WVU on bad terms and even got sued by the school. Its not gonna happen.

I tend to agree. I think their fans are just kind of coping

Why? That would be kind of fun if its just a one year thing.

Maybe if they give him back the $5M buyout he had to pay WVU when he came to Michigan?

Plus JB left college basketball because he allegedly didn’t like the direction it was heading. Why would he come back to deal with NIL, transfer portal on top of recruiting?

I would be surprised if he’s back in college level.
