Dickinson to KU as player-coach confirmed
KU losing a Dick but gaining a Dickinson?
I donât know what he was dealing with during the tourney health wise, but maybe related to that?
Yeah, the way it is worded combined with his health stuff certainly makes me think potential retirement. But I guess weâll see.
Deep in the pandemic he did an analysis of how time off following a COVID shutdown impacted teams returning to play. To his credit he did post the data he used, but the resulting analysis was so poor and his takeaways so off base that Iâve felt pretty comfortable dismissing his work since. Maybe thatâs too harsh and heâs improved, but because you have the tools doesnât always mean you really understand them or are able to communicate your findings to a broader audience with the proper nuance/uncertainty.
Now this part I can 100% get behind with Evan. He did give us the Killshot moniker, which alone warrants his exclusion from any lists of people to write off IMO haha
Can we get a write up of potential targets to poach post retirement? Thank you kind sir.
Hunter Dickinson
Rumblings sanogo could be portaling
Wouldnât even be mad if I were a UConn fan
I near doubt that. Iâm actually pretty close to that one. He needs to get paid. As an international students itâs complicated. UConnâs done calls with homeland security on how to interpret laws.
The motivation is for him to provide for his family in Africa. Dont need to elaborate there. If he does somewhere itâs to send money home that UConn canât find.
He almost went over seas last cycle
Why wouldnt he just enter the NBA draft? Going into the portal seems to be a lateral move and would not produce the NIL money, as he is an international student.
Whatever happened to good old-fashioned under the table bag drops? Is NIL a disaster for international prospects now as they canât get paid like they previously could because teams donât do under the table bags anymore?
It would also just be shocking to see Sanogo and Clingan on the same roster again willingly. Clingan has actual 1st round NBA upside, Sanogo doesnât, but the minutes gotta be there. Add the financial motivations given whereâs heâs from and the complications with CT lawsâŚmakes too much sense for Sanogo to play one year elsewhere.
Insane though. Title-winning MOP program legend coming off one of the best runs in NCAA history and less than 12 hours after youâre done cutting nets, youâre expected to be in the portal. Says something about the sport right now.
Why wouldnât clingan go to the deaft this year?
He def could. Expect him to test the waters and return but seems like heâs gonna get a lot of WALKER KESSLER 2.0 buzz and that might be enough to push him into R1 this year
I do not see the Walker Kessler comp. I just donât. Kessler is a far better defensive player and can move plus has uncanny timing to block shots. Clingan moves well for his size but is still a liability in the perimeter. I do not understand the 1st round buzz after watching him play this season.
Yeah if he is open to overseas declaring and going pro seems like the play. IDK maybe NIL really is competitive w FIBA salaries.
