Tired of playing for Cronin??
Wants a bigger NIL bag.
Pretty big programs to be poking around the Caleb Love experience. High risk, high reward, I guess.
Feels like Memphis is destiny.
Surprised no Missouri on the list
Does that mean St Johns ?
HOW THE F*** DOES HE STILL HAVE ELIGIBILITY
now that Iāve seen what boutros gets through Iām furious every time I get caught on the filter
He should go to EMU or Detroit.
Webber was a 2 and done, which I think was the first one in the B1G (maybe the NCAA?) since Isiah. Leaving after your junior year mostly only happened with the elite players. Shaq, Jordan, Mourning, Worthy, Barkley, Olajuwon. Those were all guys who played 3 years in college.
Shawn Kemp is an outlier. He played 1 year of juco ball and may have been ineligible to transfer to Kentucky. Or, that may have been when the NCAA cracked down on them. Whatever the reason, he did go pro a year after high school.
He played high school ball with Jordan Poole, JJJ, and Brian Bowen (i think that was his name. He was part of the Louisville recruiting scandal.)
I think he was only a year behind them.
I would say yes to him but it wonāt happen. Back to his home state of Illinois?
Missed an entire year due to injury and then the covid year.
I think heās from Iowa(?).
The wikipedia articles on past NBA Drafts have lists of early entries. By the 1990s going pro as a sophomore was uncommon, but some elite players did it. There also were some Juco guys who left.
1990: Chris Jackson, Jerrod Mustaf, Kenny Williams (D-II)
1991: Kenny Anderson, Ty Moseler (Juco)
1992: Anthony Cade (Juco), Troy King (Juco)
In '93, there was Webber and a Juco (Ryan Swank). There were also three freshmen who went pro - two Jucos as well as Shawn Bradley, who had returned from his religious mission.
Jerrod Mustaf was a bit shy of āeliteā but he was good at Maryland and did get taken in the first round. Iād forgotten that name. He did flame out in the NBA. Jackson was phenomenal. He he, Shaq, and Stanley Roberts didnāt even make the 1990 Sweet Sixteen is crazy.
Who were the freshman in '93? Did they get drafted?
Besides Bradley, the two Juco freshmen in '93 were Kenny Carter and Kevin Thomas. They didnāt get drafted and apparently never played in the league. Iām guessing a lot of these Juco guys were in academic trouble and declared on a wing and a prayer.
Incidentally, the last Big Ten guy to go pro as a sophomore was Indianaās Jay Edwards in '89.
Moore portal news coming?
Is it presumed heās going to GTown?
Original story was Georgetown. Then it was Syracuse. Search Twitter and you can find a half dozen schools that think they are getting him Now Maryland fans want in on the action (and are taking Hunter Dickinson too!).
The tabloid nature of that Maryland 247 site is epic. Move those subs baby!
St Johns exodus instead:
Wow. Unbelievable stuff from that 247 writer
He even has reports that Hunter could use the portal as leverage for more money cause Juwan is desperate
