Memphis’s floor is hideous.
Michigan needs a Rasir Bolton type transfer next year. Need guard depth
Ouch, I actually liked their roster by years end with him.
Did not realize that Bolton went to Gonzaga.
Villanova’s offense is usually outstanding, finishing between 1st and 16th on KenPom the last 7 years in a row. But it can bog down against teams that can defend 1-5 all over the court without helping. It’s the reason we absolutely dominated them in November 2018 holding them to 46 points in 63 possessions. They try to run screens and get mismatches and exploit them 1 on 1 and then kick to shooters when the help comes. If no help comes, they gotta win the 1 on 1 matchups. If they can’t win the matchups, it’s stagnant and ineffective.
UCLA played pretty darn well on defense. Tyger Campbell is really the only guy on the court for them you can try to exploit in the post and he did a good enough job. Gillespie got 18 points but only 3 assists and Nova only had 12 assists total (42% of made FGs, compared to their normal assist rate of 55-60%).
Seton Hall just getting going on FS1 if you want to scout Tuesday’s opponent. Jared Rhoden is supposedly back but didn’t start.
I’m a little more uneasy about Tuesday after watching the way Seton Hall gets after it on defense. It should be a really good test.
Yeah they look really good. Be ready to bring it on Tuesday. They want revenge for 89!
Seton Hall is the best team we’ll play in non conference. They run 3 guard lineups so that’s a bit scary as well
Not buying Arizona? (I haven’t watched them yet FWIW).
World’s Worst Coach Mike White off to a great defensive start against FSU
Yale not providing much of a test.
Yale is supposed to be pretty good (KenPom Ivy League favorite), but I don’t know how accurate projections are for a conference that didn’t play a single game last year.
What does that make Greg Gard?
Mike White hive stand up!
castleton with 15 pts, 16 boards and 6 blocks–and he had 5 blocks in his first game
Seton Hall appears to have pretty impressive depth. Seems like they have 4 or 5 quality players off the bench who can all be impact players any game. Bryce Aiken is coming off the bench right now which is a good summation of the quality depth imo.
Think it’s safe to say that PVAM’s legs are totally dead. 8 points through 13+ minutes in Stillwater.
8 points and 13 fouls, that is on brand for PVAM!
