Caris LeVert Draft Stock

Wow… Who do you watch then? How can you say you’re a good judge of talent if you are not watching?

MattD, can you tell me what the significant differences between lottery pick Jeremy Lamb and Caris LeVert are?

Never paid much attention to Lamb in college to be honest, which is why I’ve deferred to your comparison

Let you tell it GRIII has no business collecting a check in the NBA, Never should have been a five star recruit, never should have dressed for Michigan. The Kid has no Skills. His name alone got him everything Huh?

GRIII had/has all the skills. May not have been extraordinary with them but he has them and they will prevail eventually. Again stop with the hate. You are not a NBA player without skills sir!
Some of the Dumbest s**t I’ve ever read. Say the injury set him back, but to say he doesn’t have the skillset Is Super Hate Supreme. Go to the Corner and Take this Pointy hat with you. How in the hell was he ever projected as a Lottery pick if he doesn’t have the Skillset??
Levert down to #29 on Basketball Insiders. Starting to think there is a realistic chance he comes back, the kid just doesn’t have an NBA skillset that warrants a first round pick in my opinion.

Same reason GR3?was projected as a lottery pick with no skill. Your reasoning makes absolutely no sense at all.

GR3 has all the skills? Ok, that is my cue to exit the discussion because I see what I’m dealing with.

This man (GRIII) ran the Gamut, went through the NBA Combine, went through NBA Team workouts and got drafted! Yet, YOU, Mr. MattD youre on this Board/Forum pronouncing he has NO SKILLS!! Get outta here Mannnnnnn. Take these gas drenched draws put them on with that Pointy Hat then strike this match hater! Wow…

I think it's clear that LeVert offers more than just a catch a shoot player. He lead the team is scoring, assists, steals, rebounds, and blocks. Someone calling him just a catch and shoot player is trolling or has an agenda.

You can lead a team in all those areas and not be good at any of those areas if all of your teammates are worse in those areas. Not to be Non-P.C., but that’s a tallest midget situation.

That’s such a hipster reply of you.

You’re welcome to consider LeVert a bad passer, I think he is a solid passer. I also think he is an average rebounder for his position.

At the next level, I see LeVert as similar to Jeremy Lamb when Lamb entered the draft. Lamb went in the lottery. I don't see a healthy LeVert falling out of the 1st round.

I openly admit that my projections for Levert not being first round worthy are based on my objective opinion, but also my subjective want for him to stay since Brown is a longshot. More than anything, I just want him to make a decision by this weekend at the latest.

Isn’t objective opinion usually an oxymoron

Caris is a decent rebounder in college, but I doubt he’s a 5 rebound per game guy in the league, and he certainly isn’t an adequate passer at the NBA level in my opinion.

I was under the impression that you were calling LeVert “just” a catch and shoot player college player. My apologies.

Could you imagine a future Lineup consisting of Kyle Slo Mo Anderson, Caris LeVert, Kawhi Leonard in the San Antonio Backcourt? Hell they can send the Pistons Kyle Anderson, LeVert and a future First round pick for Greg Monroe. I doubt if Monroe wants to stays in Detroit, I say try to sign and trade him.

Not a huge fan of Anderson, but the trade isn’t horrible. Better to get something for Moose than nothing. I would be over the moon if the Stones got Winslow. That would be a perfect fit.

Levert staying is probably more likely than not at this point.

Caris return to school. I don't think he should return. Too much of a risk. And like I figured, I knew where you were going with it when you posted it. You confirmed that with the second post and your formed opinion.
Is that not what I said? I disagreed with both post. I disagreed with what that first post stood for. And then disagreed with your formed opinion in the second post.
I disagree with what that post stood for. I disagreed with the follow up post because Chad Fords report doesn't make anything more likely than not. It's a report. For instance it was reported Caleb Swanigan would head to Cal with Ivan Rabb. You formed an opinion I disagree with due to Chad Fords report.
Ford says Levert should return:

“He should return,” Ford wrote in a draft chat. “His draft stock was trending down before he was injured. Not sure he’d be a first rounder if he declared. He’d need excellent workouts.”

ESPN analyst: Caris LeVert should stay at Michigan, stock's falling

I usually don’t respond to Webb when he disagrees (because he disagrees with everyone), but how the heck do you disagree with me for reporting what Chad Ford has to say? I literally refrained from any opinion whatsoever…lol

Actually, no, I followed up with another report in which I added it was ‘more likely than not’. However, the initial post you disagreed with contained nothing more than a link to Ford’s report and my statement that ‘Ford says Levert should return’.

You disagree with what the post stood for? What exactly did the post stand for?

So, in other words, you disagreed with a post that was purely informational because you can interpret and predict what Chad Ford’s information will convey to me. I must say, I envy that type of ability.

In any event, you win…

Why would you want a broke foot 6’7 player to return to play for your team? He isn’t good enough for the NBA what makes you think he is good enough for D-1 ball? He can’t get better, he won’t heal, he has no chance. IJS

Looking better by the day!

Hearing from sources that Caris LeVert is highly likely to return to Michigan for his senior season.

Yeah, I agree and I honestly see no way he can go, but what do I know?!? And, Caris, if you’re reading this I hope you truly make the decision that is best for you, and that your dreams come true, BUT as a fan I’d love to see you come back!

Find it hard to believe that Caris will be back to full health in time for the combine/workouts considering he’s still in a boot.

Per John Beilein, Caris LeVert is still gathering draft info, still working toward decision and still using a walking boot.

It’s so hard to know what to do. Can you imagine being a kid faced with these life altering decisions. I’m glad, and I really believe this, that we have a coach who truly wants to help his kids make the BEST decision for them, regardless of whether we as fans think they’ve made the right decision.
