I would think so too. But I think it all comes down to personality at this point. Are you more of a high risk high reward (reward it terms of short term $$, not potential in NBA, that’s another story) person, or risk neutral? You will have people predicting you anywhere between 20 and 35-40, so do you go for it?
I personally wouldn’t if, as Caris said, it wouldn’t make sense to leave and be picked in the second round (to be fair I would rather play it safe, not sure about Caris). All the talk about how important the combine will be for him to prove himself again should be a deal breaker for him IMO. Call me pessimistic, but I think there’s no way he will be ready to show what he has by then, and there will surely be other kids ranked lower that will impress.
Bacari is in an awfully good mood this morning tweeting about being grateful, with a couple of "Those Who Stay"s. I think Caris is coming back. Hope it ends up being best for everyone involved.
Bacari has certainly not been very subtle on Twitter. https://twitter.com/bacari34/status/590505509351989249
Webb gave a gut feeling on WTKA this morning as well.
Its the best decision for him and the team in my opinion.
Does anyone know what time the announcement is supposed to take place today? Are they doing a conference for him like in the past or does anyone think it will just be something subtle like a Twitter announcing
I looked at all five hundred pics of BA on his twitter page, hoping one would include some code that unlocked the secrets of the universe. None did.
Assuming Caris comes back, its Really nice to know that for the first time I can remember under JB, we have 2 legitimate options for each position at 1-3 spot. Each of those options is an average player at minimum…foul trouble should not be an issue next year in light of JB/autobench. The 4-5 spots on the other hand…full of unknowns.
I think it would definitely be the deepest team that Beilein has had at Michigan. Just in terms of number of ‘rotation quality’ players.

I haven’t found any indication of any formal announcement. The last thing was last night when school reps didn’t confirm an announcement for today.
He back!
Man, its crazy that 1 decision is the difference between being a likely bubble team, to possibly being a S16 team. Bring on Jaylen Brown! If we got lucky enough to get that kid we would be serious Final 4 material in my opinion.
Good job, Caris!
Awesome news! Now the questions turn towards Williams and Brown, though I assume Levert’s return impacts the Williams recruiting. Looks like Brown or bust as far as adding to next years roster. Transfer or medical will be needed so those become the next answers needed if Brown wants to join the U of M!
Welcome back Caris!

I don’t think Williams should be impacted by Levert…he was most likely going to RS or see minimal time behind Irvin/Dawkins anyway.
Food for thought: The majority of Michigan’s starting lineup down the stretch last season could essentially be the bench unit this year.
I agree to some extent but I view LeVert’s return impacting Williams recruiting more from the view point that if Beilein was going to move Hatch to medical for arguments sake it would be for Brown and not a guard. I could be wrong and if we still ended up seeing a transfer as well as the medical possibility than both are up for grabs.

I don’t know what his situation was at VCU but for a kid who is considered by many “the best shooting prospect of 2015” it must not be in his options to RS. If it’s the case at Michigan, then why not just go to UNC where they desperately need a shooter?
