How would we be able to produce a scholarship still for Brown or Williams now?
Either we have a transfer or Beilein decides to move Hatch to a medical scholarship is the only way we add to next seasonās roster.
Awesome news! Now the questions turn towards Williams and Brown, though I assume Levert's return impacts the Williams recruiting. Looks like Brown or bust as far as adding to next years roster. Transfer or medical will be needed so those become the next answers needed if Brown wants to join the U of M!Welcome back Caris!
I donāt think Williams should be impacted by Levertā¦he was most likely going to RS or see minimal time behind Irvin/Dawkins anyway.
I donāt know what his situation was at VCU but for a kid who is considered by many āthe best shooting prospect of 2015ā it must not be in his options to RS. If itās the case at Michigan, then why not just go to UNC where they desperately need a shooter?
Because shooting, independent of ballhandling, is severely mitigated, especially in the case of a kid in the 6ā3 range.

Medical for Hatch
Someone mentioned on the main site that Caris getting accepted into the Honor Society could maybe open the door for an academic scholarship for his senior season?
This is good news but I canāt really make a prediction until I see how Walton and Levert look next year. These arenāt your basic injuries and they could still hamper them during the year. Also is Dawkins going to take a step back this year based on Levert returning. If you recall Dawkins hardly got off the bench when Levert was playing.
Someone mentioned on the main site that Caris getting accepted into the Honor Society could maybe open the door for an academic scholarship for his senior season?Lol. That would be shady as hell
You canāt switch from an athletic to academic scholarship and maintain eligibility. You can take someone off scholarship - and I think Hatch transitioning to āwalk onā (i.e. staying on team but paying his own way) is as likely as a medical scholarship, but the academic scholarship scenario isnāt allowed. Otherwise, youād have a ton of āacademic scholarsā in the SEC.
Alsoā¦presuming we wonāt offer Williams now, I sure hope we can find someone equally as good in the 2016 class.
(But donāt get me wrongā¦Iām thrilled about Caris)
Hughes can be just as good in terms of shooting, but Williams is actually a better ballhandler and defender from what Iāve seen.
No Shat, Ha Ha⦠That was my whole point. You asked me a question and I answered it, my answer wasnt meant to be Law. You suggested I wanted him to leave, I did want him to leave, I didnt want him to return and get hurt then miss out on his dream. He made his choice. It was a win win for me, Now I just wish the kid good health for the rest of his journey.
I do want him to leave. Iāve stated that quite a few times. I donāt think he should return, Too much of a risk. I donāt feel there are 30 players in college better than Caris.Hey, @webbdog, just curious, what do you disagree with? What I wrote is echoed by insider types who have talked directly to Caris.Itās like the guy wants Levert to leave UM. I mean, anybody that even suggests CARIS himself is considering coming back (which is obvious at this point) gets the disagreement treatment without any explanation. Iāve just learned to laugh it off.
No offense, but it really doesnāt matter what you, I, or anybody else on this board thinksā¦itās all about the evaluation committee. If they feel heās in the 25-35 range, Caris should come back.

FYU Caris explicitly stated the second evaluation influenced his decisionā¦IE he was borderline first rd or early second round.
