Boston College fires Jim Christian / Howard Eisley a candidate

One of the things I noticed after Juwan got the boot Friday is that Eisley was MUCH more involved on the bench. Oftentimes looked to be calling out sets next to Martelli.

I know there is this idea that he isn’t involved but I took that to mean he is highly involved on the offensive side of things.

Eisley is definitely the offensive guru on the assistant coaching staff, IMO.

All those bags and DePaul was still one of the worst P6 programs in basketball.

some chatter that Archie lands there. what a disgusting plummet that would be. probably the single worst job in the P6

DePaul? No way. Super talent rich area. Worst P6 job is either Washington State or Northwestern,

but Northwestern and DePaul are the same area! WSU is a good candidate though

That means Romeo Weems is a candidate to transfer since Leitao hired his AAU coach to be his assistant coach. I think he’s probably UDM or Oakland bound

I just looked at Romeo Weems stats… oh my. Talk about a college decision that tanked a career. Gotta feel for him

I don’t feel sorry for him. He is laying in the bed he made.

I never brought into the Weems hype. Saw him play in HS a couple times and came away unimpressed with him. More of a mid-major type with some potential to develop into a solid player.

They’re in the same area… but they’re not in the same area…

They are 8 miles apart

And Northwestern has 0 scholly players on their roster from Chicago…

I think I know what you are getting at but I am just thinking geographically

I hear chatter that Tommy Amaker may also be a candidate for the BC job. Since he’s at Harvard he wouldn’t have to move and his wife wouldn’t have to quit her job @ Harvard.

BC made their hire today

a really stinky one too

I’m sure that Earl Grant is a great guy and a good coach but I’m not sure he’s the one to lead a program with the same number of winless conference slates as winning conference records (one each) in the past 11 seasons. Oh, and that winning conference season? That was in 2011.

He’s also never been outside the state of South Carolina apart from a short stretch at Wichita State

Maybe it’s harder to win at Northwestern but it’s a very good job. Collins got a top 15 salary and a long extension just for making the tournament once.
