The end of the season is certainly turning out as promised–the league office must be pleased. I can’t remember when the race kept me interested in so many B1G games. Very excited to see us at MD.
Ain’t nobody want Penn State right now in the Big Ten Tournament.
B1G is amazing. The conference has gone from 3 or 4 really good teams and a couple of other pretty good ones as well with a pretty weak bottom half to great depth and competitiveness throughout the league. What they say is true, anyone can beat anyone on any given day, and it is so hard to win on the road. Now, Let’s go Blue and win a couple on the road to close this thing out! Go Blue!!!
Winston is fun to watch. I don’t want to sound like a huge hater but: Why do the officials allow Winston to travel? It drives me crazy. It is so blatant yet he never gets called.
I think IU is in the tourney if they avoid a bad loss.
Just took a peek over at RCMB, and I see people saying McQuaid was playing on a bad ankle and Izzo is talking about shutting down Ahrens for the rest of the year. I don’t usually feel sorry for the Spartans, but I am tiptoeing in that direction, have to admit.
EDIT: Whoops. I see buckets posted this just ahead of me.
They’re up 1-0 in the season series and are headed for a high tourney seed. I don’t feel too bad for them.
Now if we even the score and they go on to another first-weekend elimination, well, I might feel a bit for Winston…
Does MSU have a good class coming in? Are the two teams likely to be pre-season favorites? If this gets to be a thing we really might come to vie with NC and Duke for a certain kind of legendary status. Media needs to play along, of course. . .
Just terrible end of game basketball in Madison. 2 awful play calls by Chambers and an even worse non call by our friend Carstensen.
MSU has a LOI from a 4* wing and Rocket Watts is a verbal commit. But he decided not to sign a LOI in the fall for some reason. Next season for them rides on Winston IMO. If he stays, they’ll be very good again because he’s an elite player. If he goes pro, I don’t know who is initiating their offense. I expect Tillman to take a big step next season (though you might argue he’s already taken that big step this year).
I imagine they’ll add to their class if they can. They were early favorites for Keion Brooks, but that looks like an IU-Kentucky battle now. Going after a rising PF in Julius Marble, but he doesn’t really solve their issues.
OSU down 37 but there’s still plenty of time remaining. Edwards can’t afford to launch early in the clock.
Rutgers is up big at Iowa. If not for some last-second miracles we’d be talking about another Fran late-season swoon for them.
Have you seen the way Simpson borderline travels too? Not much different IMO.
As I was saying…
Don’t worry Winston will be back next year for redemption, so no scenario where we have to feel bad for him. Hope he stays healthy, loses to us and enjoys a solid end of the year.
He won’t test the waters? His pro stock can’t get any higher at this point.
What a guy. It’s not all about you, Tom.
I could never imagine Beilein delivering a press conference speech like that.
Wow, what a crybaby.
