I’m excited for when we have a PG capable of making a jump shot out of the pick and roll and/or flare screen again.
Yeah, but will he be able to run the offense and play defense, too?
Archie Miller is going to get a lot of heat, but the Big Ten office didn’t hand him many favors with the schedule.
Having to play 7 of your first 11 league games on the road is brutal. Big test for him to try to keep this team together.
It’s hard for me to give too much heat to a 2nd year coach with as many injuries/suspensions as his team has faced. Their offense looks pretty bad from the eye test, but I’m not really sure there’s a better option than “Do something Romeo or Juwan” with that brutal supporting cast.
Sounds like ol’ Professor Fink wrecked the program.
It’s insane that 2002 is the last season they’ve advanced past the Sweet 16.
Z can do it. I’m predicting he shoots well from here on out.
Honestly z is so good at scoring at the rim, break, passing and on defense that it doesn’t matter.
I’m going to take a lot of heat probably for this take, but I’d prefer z’s package over everyone but Burke amongst the pgs we’ve had. I love Walton , he was my favorite player besides levert In coach bs term, but Simpson just wins.
His leadership, d, Iq/ability to read d’s is next level. I don’t know the advanced stats on this but he seems more efficient than Walton at the rim. I think he’s over the mental shooting block too and we’ll see an avg- to slightly below avg shooter from here on out.
I’d take X’s career over Walton’s. Walton dealt with injuries his sophomore and junior seasons. His freshman year, he was mostly a spot up shooter and transition player. We had Caris and Nik so didn’t really need him to create all that much. But the second half of Walton’s senior season is amongst the best stretches of basketball we’ve ever seen at Michigan. If he had played like that the whole year, he might have been NPOY.
But X will give us 2.5 years of very good play by the time his career is over, if he stays healthy.
Yeah, the final half or so of Walt’s senior season…he was just a monster.
Tim Miles is dressed like one of those guys who’s stumbling around in Meijer Thrifty Acres at 4:00 am smoking a cigarette. Then you’ve got Holtmann doing the sport coat and pink sneakers thing. I can’t even focus on the game because of those two.
Hoping for a big day here. Took Iowa st for a nice chunk. Then small bets on Ohio st,northwestern, Kentucky, Auburn, Penn st and Maryland. Iowa st is looking good.
I’ve been pretty cold. Took Illinois at Wisconsin, Ohio st home vs Maryland, and I lost another I can’t remember. Here’s to a big day
Turgeon gonna Turgeon
And Tim Miles gonna Tim Miles.
Upset alert - Ilini leads by 7 over MD. 1:10 to go.
I wanted OSU to remain in freefall when we played them. Oh well, we’ll catch them pretty tired anyway.
I tuned in late. What reason would Turgeon have for taking that tech? Cowan had just gotten fouled and got the call.
Man, Maryland had me fooled again. Also disappointed that Miles let Holtmann off of the downward spiral.
Chambers and Miles both to be gone before next season is my prediction. Just those two.
I was just going to say the same thing! It was frustration, of course, but what a stupid time to get a tech! Huge loss for Maryland, and a program win for Brad Underwood. Illinois was very impressive today!
