Although tonight is a great night for this. Would much rather lose to Kentucky than Northwestern.

Yikes. But misery loves company so waves at Michigan State

But look at all those opportunities coming up in the B1G season! (OK, not NEXT game, but once January hits.)

A ranking which has, as just one example, Wisconsin 18 spots below Nebraska and a spot below Northwestern seems a trifle premature to be taken seriously.

So it was almost impossible to watch hoops over in London due to the timezone difference. What did I miss?

You missed Maryland’s move into the top 20 of Kenpom and Indiana getting RAC’d

Big games coming up for Maryland. At Kohl Center tonite, then Tennessee on a neutral and UCLA at home. Will know a lot more about the Willard Experience after that run.

NET will change a lot as you say, but the important thing isn’t where Michigan is ranked but where basically every team that it will play is ranked. Most Big Ten teams in the Big Ten means a lot of quality win opportunities and really good things all around for the league’s NCAA chances.

I agree 100%. Just commenting on concern with Michigan’s early ranking per se. To the extent that it reflects that Michigan has played poorly to date, that’s a concern; what is not a concern is that it buries us going forward if we continue to improve as we have in the past two games, and get over the hump and turn some of the very close losses to good/great teams into wins.

Nothing sadder than watching Shannon playing for the Illini. :disappointed:

This might not be the right game for this sentiment.

Illinois playing badly, climbs back into it, then Coleman-Hawkins takes a horrible deeeeep three early in the clock that misses and leads to a fast break dunk.

And he just called timeout under the basket just before Illinois hit a 3 pointer that would’ve cut it to 2. Literally lol

and then they forced OT and won

Bilas had a killer stat at the end of the game if you’re a Michigan fan. There are only two players averaging 19/6/3. They are

Terrence Shannon
Jalen Wilson

In case you’re wondering, none of the eight forwards on our roster are averaging that much.

Illinois benched their freshman PG that starts for their other freshman PG down the stretch who promptly took over offensively and led them to victory.

Sigh
