Big Ten Basketball 2022-23 Discussion

If not for two ridiculous comebacks against the Michigan schools, Iowa is probably NIT-bound.

would love to see them draw Oral Roberts

Should have responded ā€œhate is a strong word. I loathe Gard and the general existence of Wisconsin basketballā€.

Far more reasonable.

Absolutely! Thank you. :blue_heart:

Ohio State is totally going to get the auto bid aren’t they? lol

Fitting for the Big Ten after this year

Watching TSJ get introduced at the BTT in Chicago as he’s about to take his team all the way to the title as his homecoming

Since the season has passed, I think it’s safe to say TSJ would have been a 6 game swing in the right direction. That seems like a pretty modest estimate also, could’ve been more. I think that’s the one thing I will remember about this season in 10 years.

Will someone clarify to me why people keep this mentality he was a sure thing when the whole deal relied on something (keeping a Texas Tech scholarship that the coach had no obligation and well within his right not too) that was completely out of our hands?

Did the coach agree then backtrack?

Why did the kid not put any public pressure on him (feel like the media would have been heavily pro athlete).

You had Hunter and Jace tweeting about it and the kid never said anything.

imagine a Mich squad with Pickett, Bufkin, TSJ, Jalen Wilson, HD

(this is in the wormhole world where our coach is Jujohn Howlein)

Your best bet on learning what really happened is probably a Hunter podcast someday.

My guess is nothing was ever agreed too.

That’s why I have no clue why people think we were robbed of him.

We never had the deal complete!

Awful OOB call. Not even close

It’s obviously some wish fulfillment by fans as he is exactly what everyone knew the roster needed, but all signs at the time seemed to point to Michigan being one of a couple of favorites at the time. Seems only natural that we would be stuck on it considering where our season ended up.

It’s crazy to think that one week ago, we were an inch away from beating TSJ and the Illini on the road to put us on the right side of the bubble. Even with the flawed roster we had, we were right there.

But people keep acting like it was a sure thing when looking closer, it was anything but.

I mean we had to know Michigan was not gonna allow him in straight up.

Being only 3 classes short seems actually fortunate.

None of us work in admissions. Seems just as silly to say ā€œwe had to know Michigan was not gonna allow him inā€ as it is to say he was definitely coming.

The head of the Mac Irvan Fire AAU program was congratulating him for it on Twitter. If you want to question what went down, bring some information to the table.

fwiw the story is not mysterious or theoretical in the TTU community. they are quite clear about it.

Shannon wanted to transfer to Michigan as a graduate. This would have required finishing up his TTU degree in the spring. He wanted TTU to keep him on scholarship until his credits were complete and Adams refused.

Illinois needed two and-ones in the part of the game where they always say the refs are going to swallow their whistles.
