By far the most hilarious part of that Eastern Illinois loss is that they started the game up 18-4.
Got killed with that combo on the glass against Michigan too.
MSU-Iowa was fun but now ⦠Tominaga time.
The game also broke the Bill James safe lead thing. (Iowaās 11 point lead with 56 seconds).

So assuming Nebraska doesnāt blow a 10 point second half home lead to Minnesota, theyāll be 5-1 in February with their only loss to Michigan. When can we start the discussions about Tominaga being a winning player?
LOL! Heās having a hell of a month.
I donāt think my take was that he isnāt a winning player as much as I donāt think you can be a great team if you build your offense around him.
Honestly, the Nebraska turnaround is pretty impressive. And kind of hard to figure out.
Iowa outscored MSU 31-14 after this. Fran, that wily fox.
Not sure Hoiberg was on the hot seat but he has to be back next year after this impressive close to the season, right?
Oh 100%, Iām just messing around. Heās great as a #3/4 option but clearly if heās one of your top players, well you become Nebraska.
I am curious if this is enough to give Hoiberg an extra year. I assume yes, but without Walker and Griesel is this team any good next year? Once again, I assume no.
I think it was on the last pod that it was noted how Nebraska has changed to more of a āBig 10ā style of play rather than play as fast as possible. This tactical shift shows that Hoiberg can make changes when possible. Since he isnāt pulling a Holtmann and falling flat on his face I think itās a no brainer to bring him back. He at least has some credentials and has had success which has to mean something since this is Nebraska basketball we are taking about.
Pinnacle Bank Arena looks to be full, for a game against a cellar-dweller. Hoiberg should be safe for next season.
Kei Tominaga is a very useful player but him being the best player on a soon-to-be 8-10 team in the Big Ten says way more about the Big Ten than it does Nebraska or Tominaga.
He could have been just as awesome in previous years and that team would have 3-4 conference wins max.
Now throw Tominaga on Iowa or Indiana as a 4th option and those teams would be better versions of what they are.
Ahhh, my comment above did NOT age well. State was truly awesome today, but Iowa did to them what they did to us earlier this year.
