Iowa scored 52 points on Wednesday.
As a former coach Iām telling you, it is ridiculous. I get on officials all the time, did as a coach (seriously respectful, though) and now as a fan, I know that, but this kind of thing canāt be allowed. Nor can Izzoās antics, like when he gestures to an official and says, āGet over here!ā or when he looks at his player or an official as if he could rip their face off! There are things that honestly shouldnāt happen, and I donāt care how āHall of Fameā or whatever the coach is! There still must be a sense of decorum, of class, and certainly of sportsmanship exhibited by these guys.

Without two last second threes against Michigan schools I donāt know if Iowa is even in the tournament. Crazy how thin the margins are in the conference this year.

A shocking outcome in Carver-Hawkeye Arena. As improbable as that may have been, it pales in comparison to Kobe Bufkinās desperate 3-point heave ā āThe Blind Flingā as spartan fans now refer to it ā that allowed Michigan to barely defeat Michigan State by 12 points in regulation.

The stats on this game ā¦ utterly insane. Just to pick a few:
Iowa put up 21 more shots than MSU (75-54)
Relatedly, MSU murdered on the offensive boards again - 15-4.
Tony Perkins was 9-12 from the field, 4-5 from 3, with 3 steals, 9 RBs, 5(!) ORBs
MSU had 36 FTs. Hoggard, just Hoggard, had 14 FTs
Every single player whose last name is not Hoggard or McCaffery and who had more than 1 shot shot over 50% from the field.

thought MSU committing big time to small ball was interesting. Rebraca torched the bigs 1H, then Mady gets benched to start 2H, then Hall/Hauser frontcourt played majority of 2H and they were great, then they played crunchtime with that lineup and gave up 6 offensive rebounds in the final 3 minutes of regulation that resulted in 14 Iowa second chance points in that small stretch.
