Swap HD for TJD, what are both teams’ records right now?

I felt like he was overrated previously. I would have taken Hunter coming into this year.

Kind of surprised where both are at right now.

Man, Audige killed Northwestern with some absolutely awful shots in the second half. He’s lucky that Buie made those last two huge buckets.

feels like the same? I respect the exercise, I just don’t see anything transformative there

I’m not accounting for any unknowable off-court intangible stuff

Had to switch to Arkansas-aggies to take some notes for brackets.

Aggie’s guards are lightning quick

TJD essentially went from “normal TJD” to “best player in the country” when IU started horrible in B1G play and lost two starters. Dragged them to respectability. I think UM might be a NCAAT team with this version of him at C. Defense would be way better for sure.

seems like it just took him a year to download the Woodson software upgrade. he was still running on ArchieOS

Also, the overall stank of this Michigan team isn’t adequately addressed by swapping one guy. Maybe a 4 in the @goblue8 hypothesis, Jalen Wilson or Shannon for TWill. but TJD for HD doesn’t address Dug’s freshman farts, Jett’s defense, lack of bench production, general rebounding issues, etc.

TJD has already been the centerpiece of non-tournament teams. I suspect this would be another.

I think what tjd is doing is kind of comparable to Derrick Walton’s senior year. It took the rest of his teammates about a month to figure it out, but transformed Walton transformed the team. Indiana used to just sleep walk their way out of the tournament every year. I think having someone in their senior year who is a leader and one of the better players on the team balling out like their lives depending on it spreads to the others.

TJD’s cardio must be off the charts 6 of the last 7 he has played 39 minutes per game, one game 40 minutes on Saturday. Tough loss but when you play Indiana you pretty much know you will see TJD on the court every minute.

TJD is much more active on D that might help. Also consider there are times TJD can start 8-10 feet out bully ball and dunk on you. When has Hunter done that recently?? I would say TJD doing this without Xavier and a true PG is quite impressive.

Northwestern is going to the tournament for only the second time ever. I don’t think their fans are frustrated at all.

“can’t believe we didn’t beat michigan. totally ruins the taste of beating the no. 1 team”

…although honestly, i feel like northwestern football fans were pretty scarred by losses to michigan for awhile there. the power-slide, gardner-roundtree, all that nonsense. but their basketball team has beaten us on comparable nonsense, so i don’t think there’s the same complex there.

This sets up as a loss.

No chance you’ll catch me in this game thread lol. If they win, I’ll pop in after

I’m not sure you’ll catch me watching. My wife’s been out of town on a work trip and comes back tomorrow. No way I’m allocating the marital capital required to spend Saturday night on this.

(How sad, as it’s an MSU game. Yikes. I still think it’s just as likely we’re in the top ten next year as we are on the bubble again, but the vibe currently is just brutal)

Will Hunter walk into the arena dressed like this?

I didn’t realize Jahmir Young and Hunter were high school teammates. Young is having a good year.
