think they’ll call Jeff Boals?

they’ll swing way bigger than that

That would be pretty ballsy to fire holtmann. Even with some disappointment they’ve been what a top 5 program in conference since he came?

He has a reverse Gard resume where his teams are good by eating system but haven’t done anything but the one regular season championship

Their midrange numbers are really falling back to earth the last 4 games.

Holtmann’s teams generally low on assist rate too.

Agree at every other b1g school(save IU), but fans are super discontent and osu is crazy aggressive, look at how they handled matta

He is in year 6 and has 2 tournament wins.

I’d say since he’s been hired:
Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan State, Michigan, and Purdue have been better.

Don’t think he’s ever won a championship in his career. He finished 2nd his first year at OSU.

yeah, as someone who’s spent a ton of time on OSU Twitter over the past sixty days, they really seem done with the dude

Holtmann did a bunch of dumb stuff. Here’s one: Nebraska called timeout on an inbounds with like 20 seconds left. He left in Brice Sensabaugh (4 fouls) and then Ohio State fouled right away on the inbounds… foul committed by Sensabaugh. Why is he in the game if the plan is to foul right away? They didn’t even go for a trap and a steal.

This all happened after Ohio State wasted about 15 seconds chasing Nebraska around and then fouled a 100% free throw shooter.

yeah great point, two ridiculous lapses by Ohio State

Otz? Oats? McDermott take 2?

Holtmann has winning records in conference all but one year, made the tournament every year. Top-50 teams on KenPom every year.

He’s not getting fired.

what if Gene Smith leaves to be the new B1G commissioner?

What if he does? Someone new is going to parachute in and fire the basketball coach that wins consistently and doesn’t have kids get in trouble?

Well I mean that puts him… 6th. Illinois doesn’t have more tournament wins in that time and they had several awful teams. Wisconsin also has just 2 tournament wins. If we’re using tourney wins as the measure then it makes his argument stronger cause the conference has farted it’s pants every year in the tournament.

MSU, M, Purdue are for sure above them. And then osu is the next tier with Wisconsin. Illinois doesn’t really have a case unless the last couple years are weighted stronger

agree that’d be enough at every b1g school not named iu or osu but osu is insanely aggressive(matta built up a ton of goodwill and had a way better last 6 years to holtmann)

maybe Holtmann hears the grumbles and makes his own exit to Louisville or something

Thad missed the tourney in back-to-back years and had significant helath issues.

Kind of what i was thinking. Like a Shaka type move
