Big Ten Basketball 2021-22 Discussion

Adding Verge and gaining 10 spots seems odd. He’s a “meh” volume guy and the Huskers already have Trey McGowens and Kobe Webster, plus McGowens’ brother is going to want to get his as a 5-star coming in.

Weighting the programs recent history to project performance can produce some useless projections sometimes.

It’s like when Michigan was coming off a top three defense and upgrading from Wagner and Robinson to Teske and Livers defensively but projections had their defense in like the 20s iirc.

:face_with_monocle: Should help quite a bit recruiting wise. Anderson will bring strong connections to Meanstreets.

Never thought I would see a Victorville kid in the B1G

Big time PAC-12 and Mountain West vibe out there. This guy any good?

no idea about Agee himself, Victorville is just one of those places with a sort of inescapable gravity about it.

Because of their In-n-Out.

One of those ol’ black holes

My (Rutgers fan) opinion on Agee is that there’s no reason to think he’ll be any good in the Big Ten. There’s a chance he can be playable like Shaq Carter was a few seasons ago. From what I saw from watching him at San Jose State, they were so awful that they had to have this dude playing like a point forward which… Wasn’t great. But he didn’t really rebound like you’d expect a MWC up-transfer might, he turned it over way too much, and his stats against non-Air Force teams were pitiful.

That said he’s gone from Division 2 a bunch of seasons ago to this so there’s a little late-bloomer aspect. Not being asked to initiate offense will help the turnover issue. And he has SOME skills that could transfer over in a much smaller role.

I’m not really hoping for much. I think end-of-the-bench Dean Reiber or walk-on-turned-scholarship Luke Nathan might even be better. But there could be something there taking him off an awful team and putting him a proper role. (In this case “something” means he could be like, I dunno, Trent Buttrick level?)

Not sure how I missed this but Frederick transferred to Kentucky? When was this? Also Kofi transferring?

As it turns out, Dylan and people like him, knew Frederick was going to Kentucky as early as February. It was open knowledge. Kofi backed out of the draft and is looking to transfer. Potentially to Kentucky. Somehow.

If only based on recency bias, I am far more annoyed at Illinois and Maryland than Indiana. Like prob on the Wisconsin tier. But otherwise, I’m highly aligned.

Ever since I made the conscious decision to move Rod Stewart out of the Guilty Pleasure column there’s been a gap there. Willing to try Rutgers.

I just always find myself rooting against Indiana. It’s not always conscious. Sort of like England in soccer

Interesting. That’s Colorado for me. I don’t know what caused it but I really dislike when they succeed.

They haven’t had a run as a true heel in my lifetime. Even when Crean had them rolling a bit he was such an inherently silly person I couldn’t get that mad at them.

Dude I hated Crean. He was like an evil clown
