Big Ten Basketball 2021-22 Discussion

Rutgers made more sense as an addition for the Big Ten than Nebraska. Better school in a much larger state.

Yeah, maybe. I’d be fine if we went back to 10 teams. I totally understand the theory, flawed or not, with adding each of the teams.

Rutgers added very little to the athletics. Maryland had a bankrupt AD and has been digging out for years. Nebraska brought little academically, is in the middle of nowhere, and has been coasting off their 1990s football reputation. Penn State is fine…besides the scandals of course.

Worst Value — Top 25: Michigan +2500

The Wolverines valued as the 12th most likely champ (in a tier of their own specific to the Big Ten) baffles me. Hunter Dickinson is back, but the rest of the offseason has been a miss. Princeton transfer Jaelin Llewelyn will be asked to do too much in year one, and there’s still massive question marks at the 2, 3 and 4 positions. Are Kobe Bufkin, Jett Howard, and Terrance Williams really ready for 30 minute roles? That doesn’t sound like a roster ready to win a Big Ten championship, let alone a national championship.

But when we add Nance and Grandison, this value will look pretty good lol

Hard to argue that take at all. Pending transfers, we need Jett, Kobe, and TWill to all play 30mpg and Llewellyn has to match or exceed the role Jones and Smith have had. Lotta “ifs”.

I immediately reject his premise because he misspelled Llewellyn.

I triple checked that dammit!

If you’re not sure that you have enough Ls, just remember John LLLL Smith.

I’m bullish on Year Two Lllewellyn, myself

Purdue:

  1. Morton | Smith
  2. Newman | Loyer
  3. Gillis | Waddel | Heide
  4. Furst | Kaufman
  5. Edey | Berg

Do Purdue fans exist? I can’t believe I haven’t stumbled upon Purdue fans angry about their backcourt

Painter somehow wins the conference with those guys.

And loses first round.

they have a low-traffic Rivals board…that’s about it

Currently projected above Michigan. The Gillis and Morton ORtgs are…optimistic

I can’t even imagine what the 2022 tourney must have felt like for Purdue fans. They survive the first weekend and the region simultaneously opens up in ridiculous fashion and then they lose to St. Peters of all the teams in the world. I would be so disillusioned about it all at this point.

I haz a sad that they are currently projected ahead of us.

I like that they have more shooting around their center than other B10 teams with a really good center.

But it’s hard to know if Edey can play enough minutes. Durability issues and since refs don’t know how to officiate guys at that size, foul trouble can be random.

Well he has Michigan 31st which is a 7 seed and most here are saying we’re a bubble team

I think they are rock solid at the 5 even if Edey isn’t a marathon man. Edey 25mpg, Furst 15, even Kaufman. It’s the guards that are horrifying
