Holtmann has dragged some really wacky rosters to better than expected results but I just don’t see it with that crew
A lot riding on Bruce Thronton. If he’s good, then you have interchangeable wings to put around him and a solid offensive big in Zed Key.

Am I wrong in saying that Likekele is going to be their PG this year? His first two years he played essentially as OSU’s PG (and his AST and USG numbers bear that out). Last year he took a back seat to Cade, this year not sure what happened with his USG but his AST rate was back over 20%.
Feels like even if Thornton is a hit, and especially if he isn’t, Likekele is gonna be playing as OSU’s primary ball handler/creator a lot. The size, defense and AST numbers are all good, but the shooting and TO numbers are all bad. I don’t know how you can play him as a wing with that profile.

He definitely provides some cover there, I’d say. Ohio State has been a bit odd offensively the last few years under Holtmann where the PG isn’t always the primary perimeter creator (guys like CJ Walker, Jamari Wheeler, etc. get the ball up the court and another guard creates scoring chances like Branham or Washington).
I could definitely see IL in that kind of PG role but I’m not really that excited about what he does offensively. That roster definitely needed better defense, though.

Yeah that’s fair, especially with how OSU has utilized their PGs recently.
I agree that I’m not excited about Likekele offensively. Just seems like the only things he does well offensively involve the ball being in his hands as a creator. If he’s not doing that you’re essentially playing 4 on 5 on offense.
