Looking at @ReegsShannon Purdue roster and I have no idea if any of their talented dudes can actually play together but they do clearly have talent. If Pack-Newman-Gillis-Furst can all play together I think they’re cooking w gas. Need to figure out what to do when Edey is off the floor. Furst at the 5?

Torvik can do what he wants obvi but not sure he doesn’t need to go back to the drawing board on this lil app. He’s trying to do player level projections and the model looks to me like it’s saying “yah I dk we don’t really know, so here’s a draw heavily weighted toward the historical school mean plus some recruit ranking effects”.

I’m inclined to agree, seems way wackier than usual.
I would have to have a much clearer idea of how ORTG works (and there’s 0 chance I’m reading docs rn) to give a better critique but the sense I get is that his algo/model doesn’t have a clear sense of who can self-create and who can’t and so you mostly just end up estimating what the team/coach has done in the past. In which case, it’s just a bunch of false precision that isn’t super clarifying for the user.
