Big Ten Basketball 2021-22 Discussion

I think this happened a couple days ago which is why I deleted my post.

IU needed several transfers just to get under the limit. Don’t think anyone on their team was out of eligibility. Parker Stewart’s been through a lot, hope he lands on his feet. He technically used his free transfer already i think? so idk how that’s supposed to work moving forward. He graduated HS the same year as Eli

Has Matt Painter lost control of the program? My column:

(For real, this is a surprising one considering the role increase he’d get with Ivey/Sasha leaving AND isn’t his older brother on the staff?)

He pretty much got squeezed out of the rotation down the stretch and he also just isn’t really a Big Ten point guard. If he wants an expanded role, I don’t think it was coming at Purdue.

Agree about him at PG but he can’t be the run off screens and jack threes guy?

At his size and age I’m just not sure what the “breakout” would look like. The brother on staff factor certainly makes it a bit surprising though.

If Eric Hunter moves on, they’d need him to play major minutes I think… But yeah, he’s not gonna be able to be a heavy usage on-ball point guard at Purdue

Maryland’s 247 guy Jeff Ermann says Maryland currently has the worst NIL program in the B1G and Willard is freaked out

I’m guessing he thought B1G schools just dropped SEC bags and is now alarmed that it’s not like he thought

Willard is a lifelong northeast guy, makes me wonder if he is used to bags in the Big East? We don’t think of that as a bag conference but who knows

or maybe more likely he was excited to finally land a job in Bag Town and he is just realizing that Maryland has no bags

Geezus, they were there 4 years

oh the second one is what kt is saying. I just repeated it

How does Maryland have no bags? It wasn’t that long ago they clearly did?

I guess bags vs NIL is different. I do know that their boosters are crazy micromanagers, sort of the B1G equivalent of Auburn football

He thought he heard so much about the B1G swimming in money he failed to consider that none of that goes to the kids.

Didn’t his name pop up in the FBI thing?

oh yeah good memory, Isaiah Whitehead was a big score there

Isn’t this the guy who breathlessly stated Juwan said he was going to murder Turg, his entire family, his ancestors’ ghosts, and turn all of the Ninja Turtles into ashtrays? I’m unsure if I should believe what he says after that.

Would be funny if Willard tried to use this run back to Seton Hall. I would expect them to say “Nope, we are good” with their expected hire.

possibly, Ermann is an interesting guy because he openly hated Turgeon while covering the team
