Yeah I stopped listening to talking heads on ESPN a long time ago so if they were hyping Archie I could have missed it. I just remember in my own mind not thinking it was a home run hire or anything. I was actually more impressed with Underwood due to the OkSt game.
And I remember being frustrated that OSU had a solid hire even though they were scrambling late in the hiring process.

I thought Archie was a lateral move from Crean at the time, but I didn’t look at it negatively because I figured what they were doing was enough, just needed a new leader.
Turns out, the rest of the league got better, and somehow Archie built this version of classes. I don’t know if his coaching is overrated, but his roster construction is off brand, and when Lander isn’t a superstar in year 1, you get this. Yuck.
Yeah lateral move at best. Crean had his own issues but at least had some success. Crean at least had won some B1G titles and despite being an a**hat had some success. Archie had a pretty spotty resume to throw a guy like Crean overboard.
Have to imagine Illinois rolls today.
Lidell has already missed more 3’s than he missed against us yesterday, both were wide open.

I won’t be watching. I did check the box score and OSU is 0 fer from the field. Illinois will roll unless something like an injury or crazy foul trouble

I feel like that’s the thing that’s promoted U of I from merely excellent team to national title favorite.
I’m fine with Illinois embarrassing OSU today. They’re worthy of a Big Ten trophy. OSU winning the BTT would not sit right with me.

Me too, though it’s extremely annoying that we would have beaten this version of OSU yesterday by 15 or so.

Yep Its looking like an Illanoying blowout.
