Yes, Illinois’s conference schedule is slightly behind Michigan’s thus far, but the order is reversed overall. Illinois played Baylor and Duke in the non-conference.

Very smart move from Underwood to reposition his failure to coach this team to their expected pre-season title into “Michigan is a bunch of scummy cheaters who have stolen this from us”. Should work with the Illinois fanbase.

If Michigan were to win out, they’d have more wins than Illinois in fewer games played. Unless Brad wants to claim that not only would Michigan have lost all three of those games — all of which were against teams Michigan already beat once this year — but that they would also have lost another game… :man_shrugging:

I would guess part of the reason our strength of schedule is last in the B1G is that we don’t play the best team, the toughest team in the league…we don’t play…US! But yeah, last in SOS in the conference and 16th in the country! That certainly says how tough OUR conference is!

Correct, Michigan’s SOS is deflated because they can’t play the team with far and away the best conference-only efficiency margin!

I don’t even get what Brad Underwood is complaining about. If we had played that game and lost, they’d still be two games back? And we’re still playing the game anyway? What a weird thing to gripe about when you’re so clearly far behind where Michigan is.
