If this is anything to go by, I expect 2 Michigan dubs

I’m certainly savoring the end of this season and what will hopefully be a long Tourney run for the good guys. But there is a small part of me that wants to fast forward to next season, MSU @ Illinois, and be there to see the reaction when Mady Sissoko checks in for the first time in front of a sellout home crowd… that’s gonna be brutal And he will deserve it.

I honestly hope too that Izzo called Underwood to apologize for the foul and tell him that Sissoko is being further disciplined.

I do know if it’s OK to link this here. I hope so.

I’ll take a win over Illinois, then a blowout win against MSU. And then rest the starters against MSU in the rematch. How pissed would Excuzzo be if Michigan did that?

Impossible to overstate how satisfying that 2018 run was, Professor! :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

In hindsight it’s amazing his teammates didn’t immediately get into Sissoko’s grill after that defending their meal ticket. Particularly Giorgi as he’s right there.

I thought the same thing watching that clip and seeing Giorgi. I shudder to think what would have happened had it been Kofi! There seriously could have been an even uglier occurrence, especially after Sissoko giving Kofi that shot to the head earlier and then the little, sort of, clandestine “love tap” going back down the floor.

The more Underwood talks the more I am confident we are going to win tomorrow

Brad Underwood would like everyone to know HE IS NOT MAD AT ALL. NOPE. COMPLETELY NOT MAD. TOTALLY EVEN KEELED

I have a hard time understanding what he is saying most of the time, or what he means by what he says. I wonder if his players have that problem!

Izzo’s main game plan was to play dirty against Illinois—it was disgustingly obvious. Izzo is a scoundrel and all of the players who followed his commands to “play dirty” are losers, in my mind, until they prove otherwise…

Nice quote from Archie accompanying the AP’s story about us moving to number two:

“No question, they deserve all of the whatever the word you want to use – accolades, praise. They deserve it all,” Hoosiers coach Archie Miller said. “They have a great spirit about them. That’s one thing you’d probably have to look at Michigan and just look at the way that they vibe and they play, both ends of the floor. They get after you, they play hard for one another, they have a great bounce to them, so you can tell they’re very together. That’s a big part of what they’re doing.”

All is forgiven, Archie! Stay at IU forever!

An odd pick.

But maybe a nice gesture?

  • This marks the first time since Rutgers joined the Big Ten in 2014-15 that a Scarlet Knight has been named Big Ten Men’s Basketball Player of the Week.

I do enjoy handing out awards as nice gestures

"If I have any frustration, we were perfectly healthy and sat for 10 days in the middle of the season,” Underwood told the News-Gazette. “I know it goes beyond us, but my whole deal is I know hard I have preached and how committed our players have been to doing everything perfect with COVID. These guys have not done one thing outside of the 30 people that are every day testing.”

"It’s unfortunate because we’ve done everything COVID correctly to this point. It’s unfortunate we lost three road games,” he said. “It’s unfortunate we sat for 10 days. It’s unfortunate we sat another period for six days and didn’t play. Now we end the season with all these road games crammed in here.

Wait until he hears how many days Michigan had to sit without a covid positive. And when he hears that Michigan couldn’t even get in a gym or touch a basketball when Illinois was likely still practicing all of those off days, he will really be up in arms then. Thank you for your sympathy Coach Underwood. It means a lot.

I figured that Underwood and his orange apologists would have excuses ready. I wasn’t prepared for him to write off the entire season before it’s even over:

"I think there’s certain ways to handle things. We’re a member of the Big Ten Conference. It’s the best conference in basketball. It’s the one-off year. Would it be very easy for us to not play (the Wisconsin game). These games mean nothing. There’s no Big Ten championship that means much. These games don’t mean much. They really don’t. Yet, we’re part of something that’s much bigger. I try to be all about character. The league’s provided these games for us.

Underwood must have some incentive clause in his contract which pays a handsome amount for winning the conference. Salty coach.

Maybe this game will mean so little that Underwood won’t chuck his jacket into the stands.
