Sadly, this seems to be PR101 in this era - gas light your followers with statements that are skewed to make you look better even though they aren’t actually true. Izzo can whine about NET and playing a lot of games all he wants - they lost too many games all season. Kudos to him/them for making the tournament and beating three teams (including us) down the stretch. But the constant excuse making, whining, and twisting of the narrative is infuriating. Go UCLA!
It is kind of interesting how he went from being on the hot seat to suddenly putting together a stacked roster…
I wish the media would point out that the three games we didn’t make up were against the 10th, 11th, and 12th-place teams in the conference.
Just read some of the comments and as per usual, that was the worst decision I’ve ever made in life.
The era of Archie Island is now over…
The fact that IU couldn’t make a tournament that is entirely being played in Indiana might have been the straw that broke the camel’s back. Imagine a whole NCAA tournament being played in Southeast Michigan - and UM not making it.
John Beilein to Bloomington?
I’ve steadfastly insisted that Beilein is a poor fit for IU and won’t end up there. Guess we’ll find out
Surprised they would just give him 10 million to leave.
Pretty insulting to be given 10M for doing nothing more than getting lost.
Boosters cover that stuff. And I’m sure they’re more than willing to do so. It also is reduced if he makes any money from another job in the next 3 years
Pay the players, my god.
This will be a nice bargaining chip for when I ask my job to only pay $1mil to not work
I know that but between all athletic employees getting a 2 week unpaid furlough this year, coaches taking pay cuts and there still being talk of the school cutting certain programs it’s not a good look.
Interested in what the Inside the Hall guys say on a replacement. Beilein…
Nothing the NCAA or these programs do is ever a good look. It doesn’t matter though so they don’t care.
A lot of talk about Scott Drew. Is IU willing to hire an openly scummy guy like that?
IMO very little chance beilein turns it down if offered. Scott drew should be their realistic number 1 target, would say oats but the buyout is huge.
