Anyone got feelings about NW v Purdue? Jaden Ivey just had a dunk and blew out his vocal cords on the celebration. His mom was a hell of a baller. Still, probably a 6 on the “emotionally drunk” scale. Thought the Lead Official was reaching for his whistle

Not comparing the players or their games, but I’m sure many would say the same about Eli Brooks missing time and the hype we gave that. Frederick really does help the Iowa offense click. Defensively, makes no difference to team performance.
I haven’t spouted off much about Iowa, except to say I thought this would be their best team we’ve seen in a while…and that outscoring people could actually work with their roster this year. With Frederick, they’re suspect. Without Frederick, they won’t outscore good teams.

for all the Badgers recent struggles it is worth noting that their national rank and adjusted efficiency on KenPom are significantly improved from last season. It took a very specific series of outcomes for them to luck into a 3 way tie for the conference title last season.
They have improved as a team this season, but the conference is tougher and they have not been quite so fortunate thus far.

This Purdue-NW game is another case in point on why Matt Painter is such a great coach. In a close contest, he played 3-4 Freshman for the bulk of the 2nd half. Those players have been getting minutes all season, but it takes a great coach to give Freshman a chance to get out there and play against the other teams starters. Big respect to Coach Painter.
Of course now NW is on a run to close the game so Hunter and Stefanovic are back in
I can’t see any plausible final score in this game other than MSU by 20+.

I think everyone here is well-aware of how bad MSU is, but I think collectively we still under-estimate how awful they are this year, myself included.
