Michigan and Iowa both have other games to make up. Michigan and Iowa are only scheduled to play once. Michigan and Iowa have a week off before their next games.
Who says no?

Are either MSU or Nebraska (Iowaâs postponements) going to be ready to play next week?
Agree that Indiana was on the unlucky side lately until yesterday
Michigan and Iowa
I get that it would be bad for both teams as far as the âeasiest pathâ to the Big Ten title. I also think that if we are going to play college hoops in a pandemic we should have the good teams play against each other as much as possible when healthy.
Should be both fun andâlikelyâchaotic as we move into the final stretch. Grateful that we have quality hoops to root for/keep us absorbed.
Obviously I donât think a 2nd game between them will be added next week (despite how much fun that would be), but it does seem like a good spot to move our originally scheduled game to. That way the back end of the schedule opens up more slots to make up future postponements.
Yeah, thatâs less fun but maybe more realistic. Why not do it when you know you will need space in the schedule later.
I have a âcool story broâ moment to share with the board. My company is having their national sales meeting kickoff today (virtualâŚbut still). The keynote speaker is Magic Johnson. So I can say Iâm having a Zoom call with MagicâŚ(along with a bunch of other peopleâŚbut still).
If thereâs Q&A should I ask if he thinks MSUâs tournament streak is going to end this year?
Michigan is going to play Penn State Jan 27th
Penn State plays Wisconsin on the 27th but I guess that could change. I assume a lot of dates will have to move as more teams miss more games.
That would be 4 games in 11 days. Thats a lot no?
According to Chris Balas itâs been changed
You canât really afford to have any teams sit around for a week and not play if they are healthy. I assume that they will make sure everyone gets a game in right now. Wouldnât make sense otherwise.
At this point whatâs a realistic amount of games for Nebraska to get toâŚ18? Making up six just seems like too tall a hill.
Also, glad that Michigan was able to play them before all this and pad that W column.
In case you were curious, I was able to find UMHoops articles for the top 25 players as early as 2013. So at least 7 years.
So Iâm rewatching IU-Iowa to watch Iowaâs defense⌠yikes. Their go to in this game and others Iâve seen is this 2-3 zone. Itâs not particularly good to say the least. Their entire defensive philosophy is built toward making sure Garza moves as little as possible. Getting the ball into the middle of it is easy - all you have to do is rotate the ball around a once or twice - and from there itâs over. Indiana had a lot of success screening it for the ball handler
They also have a 1-3-1 they switch to that is an abomination to James Naismith. Ultimately they just try to switch defenses enough that you might forget for a couple possessions how to attack them.
In man to man, Michigan will get what they want. Interestingly, I think Garza likely struggles more with someone like TJD that is really quick on the block as opposed to Dickinson. But they didnât even help off of IUâs crappy shooters and double so I imagine HD will still have free reign to score. Iâm actually convinced Garza likes when his man scores cause then he just books it down the court without bothering to contest so that he can get deep post position and score immediately on the other side.
Wow⌠McGary listed at #2 brings back âwhat could have beenâ memories. Aaron Craft listed at #3 brings back âWTF nightmaresâ. GR3 being #5 for the season when Stauskas won the POY was interesting.
