Not predicting it, but Purdue seems more than capable of blowing this lead. (And MSU capable of making a run)
Feel like with Winston, you have to throw athletic size at him. Wish they would have put Matthews on him last year (in the games he was healthy.) The hard hedge would string Winston out and Michigan was so concerned with Tillman rolling that Winston would fire those cross court passes to McQuaid. Harder to do with Matthews on you.
Matthews got hurt early in the first meeting and missed the second. He wasn’t 100% in the Big Ten Tournament IIRC as well.
Yep. Length is about the only thing that I have seen that bothers Winston.
and eastern is a legit defender
Fortunately we will never know the answer to this question. Today was a bit of an embarrassing collapse for the Spartans
I mean, it’s easy to say that Eastern (who, true, is a big athletic defender with the agility to stay with Cassius) is the reason, but then you look and see that Winston scored 52 points on 28 shots against the Boilermakers last year.
I think he just had a bad day.
I don’t think anyone is saying big athletic defenders are guaranteed to stop Cassius, but it’s the best chance you have. Many of the games where he has struggled have come against that type of player - Illinois last year, Kentucky and Purdue this year. Unfortunately, Michigan doesn’t have that type of player this year and last year that player was injured for the MSU games.
Damned good thing they’re playing Nebraska at home. Should still pull out the win.
Key piece back for Iowa.
Iowa shooting absolutely lights-out and only being up 6 is pretty odd. That being said… wow those are some impressive shooting numbers especially on the road.
Shame on me, but I’m legit having fun watching this Maryland vs Wisconsin game.
Wisconsin got a stop down 1 under a minute then got a shot clock violation LOL!!
And then Maryland turned it over during the inbound Hahahah
Davison with the big brain plays. Dribbles into a shot clock violation, then knocks the inbounds pass off the inbounder, then knocks down a corner 3 off the inbounds. Too funny.
This is the craziest stat in there:
Michigan State, Michigan, Ohio State, Maryland, Purdue – probably the five Big Ten teams who have spent the most time in the AP Poll, and the ones with the highest preseason expectations – are a horrendous 1-13 ATS on the road in conference play. Four of them have lost a game by 18+ points on the road, and the one that hasn’t (Ohio State) has lost all three road games by double-digits.
Rutgers on the brink of running Indiana out of the RAC.
