I think I’m OK with Holtmann being at OSU. Matta for awhile looked like a difference-maker. Holtmann seems like he’ll have them be pretty good most of the time, but just that - not contending for Final Fours.
After the earlier B10 shooting disasters, Wiscy-Penn State 0-0 after 4+ minutes. B10 play getting uglier by the minute.

Carton will be a sophomore next year and I expect, a stud. So who knows how good they could be next year. Will most likely have to replace Wesson, though.

Announcers are attributing it to great defense. I, uh, respectfully disagree…

This is a good reason to miss Beilein–give me more offense.
Like I said, I think they’ll be a tourney team in general, probably in B1G contention, but I’m not really buying them as a program that’s going to take the next step.
Micah Potter has 18 in the first half and Wisconsin is up 11 at Penn State. Big ten is confusing this year

Not sure what to make of this game. Penn State would make a push and Wisconsin would make some absurd shot to get the lead back to 10 or so. Felt like a lot of pretty lucky stuff went in.

Northwestern up 15 on Nebraska. If they win they and Ohio State (the #11 team in the country) will be tied for last in the Big Ten.

This is only MSU’s second Big Ten road game.

MSU makes me so mad. Miss wide open threes, careless turnovers against Purdue but everyone on the team plays their best game against Michigan every time

Sure, but they’d be 6-0. 14 wins is gonna get you a share, no question (KP projects Maryland to finish 2nd with 12 wins). A 7-7 run or worse after a 6-0 start would be a pretty enormous collapse, even though they’ve played less road games.
Life is a lot different on the road. MSU has had a very favorable schedule to this point.
