I’m not sure if this is quite completely fair. Just like two years ago, MSU doesn’t have the guard depth to consistently play small.
All he’s suggesting is putting Henry at 4. So Winston-watts-brown-Henry-Tillman.

Yeah, but that’s always gonna be just a temporary lineup if they played it. They only have 5 real guards/wings on the roster and 4 of them are playing in that lineup.

MSU loses to KY who loses to Evansville.
MSU loses to VT.
MSU is not a #1 team. Not a top 5 team. Maybe not a top 10 team.
I would be pretty surprised if MSU is not top 10 by season’s end. MSU lost big to Kansas and then to a mediocre Louisville last year. They still made the Final Four and beat our really good team 3x.
I would caution from taking too much from their non conference. How many times have they finished non conference with fewer than two losses? I would guess not many. And yet Izzo has a bajillion Final Fours.

As Dylan has pointed out about how important the first game in these tournaments are: Va Tech will be the best team that MSU plays in Maui, the rest of the teams they have a chance of playing are not top 60 on KenPom.
