Real eurobasket games have started. Nothing super interesting today but Franz and Germany play at 9:30 against Montenegro who is not horrible
Latvia vs. Turkey probably the game of the day. There’s like 8 NBA players between them, plus Shane Larkin
Also gotta say I can’t respect the Euro teams that nationalize elite Euroleague guys like Larkin. Turkey’s got 80 million more people than Latvia does, kinda cheating to bring out Shane Larkin
Close first half for Germany due to 3 point variance, and Andreas Obst has flipped that around with 4 made 3s in the quarter, so they are now up 20 on Montenegro
Georgia beat Spain by double digits today. Was very surprised, but less so after looking at their roster and seeing some recognizable names. Goga Bitadze and former college stars, Mamu (Seton Hall) and Kamar Baldwin (Butler). Spain just doesn’t have the most impressive roster. Their talent has fallen off a bit.
Nkamhoua is going to be a guy that in 4 years I am just not going to ever remember as someone that played large minutes for Michigan. Heck I already can’t remember a single thing he did
Germany super locked in early this morning. They are just so tough, Theis and Schroeder you’d think is the best pg/big combo in the world if you didn’t know better. Can’t wait to see them play Serbia
That stinks. Serbia needs scorers off of Jokic and I was pulling for Serbia since they’d never won a gold medal in one of the big tournaments. Probably nudges Germany to the slight favorite
