I think he’ll get cut to make room for Daniss for converting his 2 way contract to a standard contract. He is one game away from the 50 game limit
Daniss was sitting out too and Duren missed the second half. Possibly to a real injury.
Regardless, they still should’ve beaten the Wiz.
It’s the NBA so random losses like this will unfortunately happen every so often, just have to chin up and get ready for a legit team tomorrow
I know Zubac is good but I kind of think the Clippers made out ok?
The problem is Garland, Mathurin, and Jackson are hurt constantly, but if they can find a way to keep them on the floor
Garland, Mathurin, Kawhi, Collins ,Lopez
Bench:
Bogdan, Sanders, Jackson, Jones, Batum, Sanders, Dunn
Feels fine and close to as competitive still with how well Kawhi is playing?
I agree. Zubac is pretty darn good, but the Clippers could come out of this really well depending on lottery results. If we’ve learned anything from recent draft lotteries, there’s a legitimate chance that 2026 Pacers 1st conveys to the Clippers this year
The Pacers are going to work hard to tank to get to the top 4 pick. They’re gearing up for next season.
Hali healthy plus a top 4 pick (Dybansta, Peterson, Boozer and whoever they think is the next best) with this roster is good enough to compete for the NBA title.
Kawhi has been playing great but I have a hard time thinking this team intends to win much more this year, they are going to take a look at their fringe guys
The Pacers needed a real C, and their ownership puts some pretty specific constraints upon them, so Zubac at $20 mil a year is probably literally the best thing they could do
it’s obviously a big bet on Hali coming back as he was. I don’t think they will miss Mathurin. If they can keep this pick, it’s obviously going to add a serious piece for the future
the tough thing for them is how spread out their ages are - by the time this pick can do anything, Siakam is going to be sort of useless
I completely agree about the Pacers side of the trade too. I think Hali + Siakam + Zubac + top 4 pick is one of the best cores in the eastern conference.
My point was that even if they land the best lottery odds, there’s a 48% chance that pick falls to 5 And goes to the Clippers. That’s a worthwhile swing for a Clippers franchise that could use an infusion of young talent. If that pick stays with Indiana, then their future becomes even more reliant on the return they can get for Kawhi in the summer
I think the Pacers viewed any prospect outside the top 3 as not worth adding to the roster to help them win right away. The backend protection does not matter bc they’re bad this season. That’s probably why they put this protection in place when trading for Zubac.
It’s only halftime and I’m sure that Brunson has many more flops left in him but the Pistons smoked the Knicks in the first half, 63-41. NY is without KAT and OG. The Pistons are without Duren and both Cade & Stew were whistled for 3 fouls each so they missed some time. The bench was really strong. Caris even ended his 3-point drought.
Up 25 but Cade and Stew now both have 4 fouls. Make that 27.
Why is KAT wearing sunglasses on the bench? Did he get a concussion? Or just because?
They said he got cut above the eye.
That would make sense
Up 29 with Cade and Stew on the bench! There’s still more than a quarter to go, though
Hart now out for NY.
Tobias has been solid this year. Helps Cade has become a big star and Duren has taken large jump..Duncan/Tobias are great compliments.
Pistons saw what Michigan did to Penn St and said “Hold my beer.” Almost up 40
