Sounds like they should try to bring in Kobe Bufkin
ok, ok, ok.
76-6
Bouncing to Jokic or Luka really helps
They need LeVert and Ivey back from injuries.
Ausar, Caris, and Sasser are all listed as game time decisions for tonight.
the league generally is awash in injuries already. Both Indiana and Memphis qualifiy for a hardship exception ALREADY for how many guys they have out.
Ausarās issue is apparently an illness but he did attend the shootaround.

Really good game going on Pistons v Magic. Cade starting to take over. Duncan shooting the lights out
I am having a very hard time figuring out Orlandoās complete defensive implosion this year
This team normally loses because they canāt score 100 not because theyāre allowing 125+ every night
Pistons have played well but Orlando looks poor.
the bloom has come off orlando!
Getting LeVert back is huge for Cade. 0 turnover.
Not sure how Orlando defense took a nose dive. They shouldnāt be this bad
Cade with his first In the Zone game of the season.
That was a really fun one to watch. Duren was quite impressive too in getting to the line a bunch to keep us in it in the first half and just exploiting when he had a mismatch. Everyone gave good effort, Tobias and Duncan had really nice nights, Ausar had a double-double and 6 dimes. LeVert had a bad offensive night in his return but it was good to see him back.
On to Mexico
Holy cow Dumars canāt possibly get enough criticism for the Derik Queen trade. They are horrific and completely quit in Denver tonight, donāt see how Willie Green makes it into 2026. Right there with Brooklyn for worst team in the league.
Actually, it was a fantastic trade!
Raptors hit 50% of their shots from the field, 21-40 behind the arc, 29 assists, 10 turnovers. Did they win?? No they lost 139-121 to Houston. Houston hits 57% of their shots, 26-34 from the FT line and outrebound Toronto 53-22. That Toronto team looks rough.
There was never a discussion between Harper and Edgecombe. It was Edgecombe vs Bailey vs Knueppel vs Tre Johnson in the tier after Flagg and Harper. I loved VJ in the draft and he was my personal #3, but also thought that Harper was clearly a better prospect. Harper projects as an on-ball engine for an offense and thatās just more valuable in the league than a 3&D combo guard.
Weāre in the first week of the NBA season, so weāre still in small sample size territory. Everything from the first week of the season always gets glorified and blown out of proportion, but it is way too early to be changing up takes on the 2025 NBA draft class ![]()
I think Toronto is comfortably in the 7-10 seed race
Also, Harper has been awesome so far. Itās obviously, admittedly too early, but my take of the guys getting major tick so far:
-Flagg is getting force-fed a role heās not ready for on a flawed team. Thereās a possibility this force-feeding pays dividends down the road (not this year!) like it did with Giannis but itās not going to lead to quality play until they find an actually qualified on-ball player to play on-ball. Itās amazing how everything clicks into place by just inserting a career mediocrity like DeAngelo Russell. Like, I donāt think moving Flagg to the bench because he got eaten alive playing on-ball against the freaking THUNDER is rational or sound.
-Harper has been AWESOME, but role and available minutes will provide a significant ceiling on what he can do this year in ROY.
-Iām by no means saying VJ should have been picked #1 or anything (thatās still obviously Flagg) but heās a bit better than I thought especially offensively and in the myriad games Embiid will miss, heās going to be asked to take 18 shots at least. The aplomb with which heās consumed his usage so far is far better than I expected.
So Iām not trying to do āwho has the best careerā, mostly doing āwhoās winning this awardā (which is still premature but the internet is for TAKES)
