This sucks big time
What a-holes
This sucks big time
What a-holes
That’s kind of my point
Over 82 games maybe they can figure out how to have them play together
In this they need to be good basically immediately and that’s unlikely
I’d be curious if they’re even trying to steal any of the good sets the Wolves used this year. Wemby obvi isn’t the shooter KAT is but they had a lot of stuff to draw from. Heck, the Spurs played Wemby w Collins a decent amount too, right?
From what I’ve seen, it was a lot of like you said. Wemby as a spacer instead of…anything else. Gobert as a roller but also lots of duck ins and post ups that go nowhere. Yuck.
I’d try to watch. Gotta pay the losers too if you want them to come vs All Stars.
The Spurs did but the duo were -12.5 pp100 while Wembayana lineups generally were -3.5 pp100
So
3 X 3 where every game is Rutgers vs Rutgers but if it took place at a local YMCA and refs decided the game
Knockout / Lightning / Gotcha (which I also call it, must be an ATL thing?) would be a much better Olympic sport. I think @quickdarshan already said this as a joke but I genuinely believe it.
Oh sure it wasn’t a good idea but I assume they had some good sets to steal from at least.
This is an excerpt from the daily newsletter I get from The Athletic. Bugs me a lot more than it should but there’s no way you mention freakin Dennis Schroder over Franz. I sincerely hope Germany kicks France’s butts tomorrow.
I think NBA should give Bruno Caboclo a shot at being a backup big. He looks worlds better now than when he first debuted with the Raptors when he was a raw prospect. It’s hard to believe he’s 28.
I have no idea what is contract status is but he’s playing for a good European club (one of the two traditional ABA powers). Being a major part of a good team there is something that we see a decent number of foreign players choose over being a role player in the NBA (the Hernangomez brothers a good example, Facu Campazzo left because starting for Madrid was more appealing than being a backup PG, etc)
(I also wondered about Isaac Bonga who washed out of the NBA as a 21 year old and is only 24, but learned he’s actually still not any good at Bayern, he’s just on a heater in the Olympics).
(Fun fact Bayern is helmed by old friend Carsen Edwards and surprisingly NOT retired Serge Ibaka!)
Knockout would be awful. They’d just drain FT. Unless you move the line waaaay back.
Yeah you gotta move the line way back and maybe add in some obstacles like steeple chase. Could be one country vs another and you go until one country is completely eliminated or individual and everyone playing is from different countries.
Or they should just make 3X3 full court and it would be a lot more open, fast paced and fun
Real G’s play Gotcha/Knockout from the 3 point line
Look at Rudy Fernandez played 4 years in the NBA. I’m sure he could have gotten a few more contracts. Instead he went back home played 13 years for Madrid.
Semi #1 Germany-France is coming up at 11:30
Expecting Germany to win this one. Germany has been the best European team and it’s no accident they won Eurobasket last summer.
Is Rudy just not on the team anymore?
EDIT: no it’s just that these France rotations make no sense.
Wemby and Gobert pairing isn’t great which is why they went away from it.
Germany is struggling without Franz on the floor
Gobert seems to be in the coach’s doghouse for whatever reason. They’ve played better since he was dropped from the rotation, though.
