I think Germany is the favorite to beat either team regardless IMO, not because I root for the Wagner brothers, but the roster is well balanced across the board. It helps that they won Eurobasket last year.
It’s definitely largely due to jokic being just unreal but him being a point center and screwing the team up when he’s not in is definitely true too. Nuggets have even tried having backup centers who are really good passers and it’s stil a disaster.

Feels like the logical solution is to expand the field to 16 teams. Four groups of four and the top two from each group advance. Then you can arrange the bracket so no rematch is possible until the final.

Looking likely it’ll be USA vs Germany for the gold medal game.
France at home can beat anyone, especially now with Gobert benched. Also think USA could be lulled into a false sense of security having played Serbia twice already
