Goes way beyond the caliber of the players for me. Though that’s probably part of it. And worth noting the other countries aren’t sending their best either, not like there are any euro league guys there.
But I just don’t like the rules, the short run time which makes it super high variance. The ball is smaller. They have to punish fouls harshly because otherwise there would be tons of fouls, but then that puts the games almost in the hands of the refs, which isn’t fun either.
3 on 3 is fun to play, good for development of younger players as well. But should not be an olympic sport. It’s like pickleball
USA Women’s 3x3 wins the Bronze medal. Nice bounce back from a bad start to the Olympics.I think HVL redeemed herself in the 3x3 but 3x3 format suits her game. I think USA would’ve won gold if Cameron Brink didn’t get hurt.
Yeah against USA. Serbia is even with Joker on the floor but minus 30 or something like without him on the floor.
It’s like the Nuggets where Joker’s on/off court split is large. Normally, I don’t take too much stock into it because it’s usually not a representative of the player’s ability since you’re relying on teammates on the same court. In Joker’s case, it’s representative. I wonder if Joker as the point center screws the rest of the roster construction because you don’t need a true PG on the team.
Haven’t been following particularly closely but why are we on track for rematches of the group stages? USA/Serbia and Germany/France? Just because of re-seeding or something? That seems lame.
