I thought they’d lose to Rutgers. Been waiting for a collapse.
Notre Dame Choking Irish
Rudy is the worst sports movie of all time
Definitely agreed there too. I think you have the grind of regular season, the faux wins with home court whistles and the lack of top end talent/athletes, combine all that and you see why the conference struggles.
Love those runout endings. So hype.
Amazing. The universe is a Michigan fan
What a day!
Notre Dame had a million chances there
Definitely the coaching is overrated. Outside of Izzo and maybe Juwan now none of the coaches in this league have ever had postseason success. Putting expectations on coaches that shouldn’t be there and overrating so many coaches in our league.
Like I’m sorry Matt Painter has made 1 Elite Eight in almost 20 years! Juwan did that his first ever tourney. Matt Painter just isn’t this amazing coach and same principle for other coaches
IMO we get exposed every year because we just don’t have great coaches. Izzo, Belein, Bo Ryan, and Thad Matta are the only good coaches come March in our league. Juwan’s trajectory looks like he’ll be in that group too
TTU ends the game on a 10-1 run
Love it. ND chokes it away at the line! Great couple days here. Had to pull over again as there’s like 5 spots on the highway that still carry reception once you hit Quogue.
What a block by Ivey. That we barely saw because of an insane camera angle
I agree on this year being overrated. I think there’s been past years it’s been an overrated conference as well. This year it’s really just been Iowa and Wisconsin choking so far. Now if Purdue also loses tonight, it’s going to reflect very poorly.
I also think the big part of being overrated is the coaching. Many of these coaches get a lot more credit with the media than what they are in reality -overrated.
Very unfortunate swallowing of the whistle by the refs at the end of the ND/Tech game when I had Texas Tech -8…
And Fran, Underwood and Holtmann have one career Sweet 16 between them, despite coaching several current/future pros.
It is an interesting question about the B10. I do think the talent and coaching is more spread out than in some leagues and until this year the B10 wasn’t getting five star talent.
But the only real “upset” was Wisconsin, right?
I was thinking the lottery picks in the league would take the conference farther this year but hasn’t been the case so far.
Illinois going out in the first weekend (tough matchup or not) the last two years is the really glaring one IMO. They’ve had Final Four-level talent, and didn’t put it together.
Jabari Smith just got denied on a dunk attempt.
Agree with all this. Also, really, Iowa’s the only real disappointment – Illinois lost to a better team, Wisconsin has been an obvious fraud all year and everyone else lost to better seeds.
I agree…they are the biggest surprise. Their team was set up for big things the last two years. I wonder if there is any foul data with Kofi the last two years that might point to a difference within the conference and tournament since they rely so much on him.
