It’s just a smiley face with cyclone emojis (Iowa State). The cyclones show up as storm clouds for some reason on the embed on this site.

Definitely have very good talent and recruiting well. But still not recruiting nearly as well as the top end of other conferences.

Duke beat Notre Dame 57-43, in South Bend, in their only matchup this year.

I’m not worried about Bray throwing the game. I don’t think he could beat Duke with the best coaching performance of his life.

OK, come on TT. Take this game by the throat.

I’d argue the home court advantage in the Big Ten is the reason for the officiating. The whistles many home teams get is ridiculously bad. You get into a neutral court environment without that advantage and you see what keeps happening.

We talk about Michigan’s lack of a home court advantage with Crisler. I have no doubt that helps the team in the tournament. I would say it’s a minimal benefit but it does help.

I think for other Big Ten teams who get SUCH a home whistle (cough, Wisconsin, cough), you see how overrated they are away from home.

I think the effort of hanging a big championship banner drains the top teams.

Let’s goooo Chris Beard!!!

Santos-Silvia’s hairline is in pre-plugs Lebron range

Doesn’t the TTU coach look like a television comedian? I’m thinking Martin Short.

Epic collapse by ND. Wow.

Home court advantage definitely plays a role, but I think the lack of top-tier talent might carry the most weight.

I feel like the Big Ten season is definitely a grind. Even the bad teams make you play 40 minutes. But could just be my bias since I watch almost every Big Ten game and only a few from other conferences til February

Certainly also part of it.

I think this year the conference was just overrated. We’ve had discussion on here about the o/u for B1G sweet 16 teams being 1.5. I don’t find these results surprising. Wisconsin sucks and plays junk basketball, Illinois has been pretty flawed to close the year, then Iowa/OSU/Purdue don’t play defense.

Last year I think was just a genuine fluke and small sample size stuff.
