They are who we thought they were, but Michigan can’t let them off the hook!
Tennessee probably should have been the 2 and Nova the 3 still a very good team and dominating OSU right now
Whoa, a 3-second call in this tournament?
He’s already come back twice and he’s clearly not getting any better. Like he was great this year, but he hasn’t developed anything at Illinois besides refining the things he could already do. The entire team around him is leaving, so they’re gonna take another step back. And now he’s another year older. Yes there’s NIL money, but at a certain point you still wanna start your pro career that has higher earning potentials.
It’s really the same position that Hunter’s in, but Michigan probably has a higher ceiling for next year, Hunter has developed more, and he’s also a year younger. The more times he has the choice to leave, the more likely it is that Kofi will eventually leave
To be fair, it was close to seven seconds.
OSU has two miracle threes to keep this from looking ugly.
All very fair points – you may well be right. My answer was driven partly by the way Underwood answered that question, if I’m being honest. Seemed like an awful answer (“coach’s decision”) talking about a guy you want to ideally lead your team next year, when there are so many better ways to say that exact thing (“Andre’s wonderful, I just thought we needed a bit more shooting”). Obviously, Underwood knows him better than I do so who knows what motivates him … just seemed unnecessarily terse and negative.
Yeah but Kofi is worse than Garza and look at what Garza is doing. He may have to come back.
G League and international money still has higher potential than NIL in Urbana Champaign
As annoying as OSU fans are, I can’t quite dislike Big Nut (or whatever he’s called). I just pity that guy a bit. He’s always looking sad.
Of course the obligatory sighting of the Bucknut in the stands. Serious question: is he comped tickets to all basketball and football games? Always has great seats.
Did he really shove him in the back? That looked more like a leap. Can you flop forward?
weirdly enough, I feel more confident against Villanova than OSU.
Villanova has allowed some open three point looks. With Hunter we should have more success in the paint. As usual whoever we play Hunter’s going to have to be huge.
Feels like drop coverage Michigan-style could be effective against Villanova. Won’t shut them down, but try to turn the game into how can shoot twos better.
We thought this last year with Kofi out the door to Kentucky. Illinois will contend for the B1G next year. I bet they share a three-way title with Wisconsin and MSU while Michigan finishes 14th
I heard Northern Michigan and Michigan Tech are both joining the Big Ten as basketball-only members next year. Michigan will finish 16th.
Villanova looks really good. Like Barkley said they don’t beat themselves they don’t turnover the ball they make there free throws and play good defense. They will be tough to beat Michigan can beat them but they need to cut back on turnovers and make free throws and knock down some threes need Houston to play well.
Rebounding will also be key. I’ve been impressed at how hard Nova crashes the glass, especially Dixon (who is only 6-8).
