2022 NBA Playoffs Open Thread

I think that’s a pretty fair assessment about his place in the NBA. For Atlanta specifically I like him playing in Huerter’s place. More balanced lineup than the two offense only guards.

Yeah, I agree with that. Huerter/Young is about as bad a defensive tandem as you could create with 5 years and a lab. Wright is a plus defender and an approximately average offensive player overall. I think he’s well suited to address the Hawks’ more glaring problems.

I think he’s a worthy bench player on a competitive team. If I’m not mistaken, he played for a lot of good Toronto teams.

And while he was traded for Cory Joseph, that was more to get 2 draft picks and I think Joseph cost a little less and also wasn’t as good (better for tanking.)

Yeah, not trying to say he’s bad. I’m saying if he’s your starting PG, you’re behind the 8-ball. I could see him starting in the way Beverly is a “starting PG” - where you have someone else doing most of the offensive part of the role, and he just needs to shoot, D up, and attack closeouts.

Though I ate breakfast next to him once that first offseason and Dray still ate 2 full breakfasts.

Boston fans wonder why people hate them

Maybe the guy wearing the shirsey of their 8th man (who happens to be white) trying to antagonize fans of the home team

Yeah as a Pistons fan, I still can’t get myself to root for the Celtics (or Bulls) even though I don’t dislike any of their players. I guess I just want their fans to suffer.

Feel like Boston fans are a unique flavor.

They really are.

This Celtics defense is something. Celtics v Bucks should be a hell of a 2nd round series.

I hate the Celtics, and I hate that their defense is this good against Durant. I’m reminded of the fact that while Bulls are the ultimate Pistons rival, Celtics hatred transcends that.

Normally the hate scale for me is Lakers>Celts>Bulls, but there’s a Boston sports fan in my social circle who is awful about it. Doesn’t make up for it by being interesting in other ways; doesn’t even recognize when I troll him about when he told me a few years ago that Kyrie would resign there because “the Celtics are a first-class organization”.

If Grayson Allen gets out of Chicago without taking a set of brass knuckles in the teeth, I will be apoplectic .

Jokic dominating, 2-10 nuggets easily have the worst roster in the playoffs

As a Bulls fan I’m already apocalyptic. This is the 6th time the Bulls have played the Bucks since that shot on Caruso. Nothing has been done about it. I don’t like advocating hurting players and I’m not suggesting it in this case but the dude needs a hard foul. Mentally he owns the Bulls and due to lack of retaliation can now embrace the villain role. The booing only helps him lock in more.

Having watched the Bulls get blown out in over half their games the last 6 weeks of the season I didn’t expect them to win this series. In fact I expected them to get blown out 4 straight times. But even with an actual win and another close loss in the series it’s still infuriating to watch them get dominated so thoroughly - on their home floor no less.

Michigan needs to give me a pick me up today

To the Nuggets’ credit, I do not feel as if they booked flights to the Carribean departing Denver this evening.

I swear the Nuggets have been playing better without Jokic on the floor.*

*Should add that I thinkJokic is one of the best players in the world and this statement sounds stupid in retrospect.

EDIT: Why the f is Jokic constantly being sent out to the perimeter? Denver coaching has been an abject disaster.

I can honestly say I have never seen a box and one defense used in the NBA…let alone against a center.

What’s that saying again about things never being as good or as bad as they seem? Lol
