The Heat play some D. Gonna love this series.
Really need the Heat to win game 2. That’ll be the one that matters here.
7 stocks for Butler tonight
4 blocks for Bam
6’3” Gabe Vincent had 3 blocks
Interesting thread
Just want to point out this guy calling Poole a “turnstile” (a hyperbolic point I agree with the spirit of).
I think Poole will have a hard time when Brunson and Dinwiddie are on the floor because I don’t think he can stop either, and the Mavs will go out of their way to make him guard Doncic as much as they can.
I think the Warriors will have a hard time attacking Doncic the same way because it’s just not how they play (and the Mavs are capable of switching any Draymond/Steph P&R when Kleber is on the floor).
It brings me no joy because Luka is amazing and I cannot stand watching him due to the endless stream of complaining.
They’re not going to attack Doncic in that way but guarding the Warriors is exhausting. They’ll run him like a dog
Right, you need to chase the three guys all over the place. They can definitely exhaust him due to his…huskiness. I’m just saying they don’t really force matchups like the Mavs do.
I really think that if Maxi can keep hitting threes the warriors are going to have a hard time.
I didn’t not notice that. Also I guess feltbot has always really liked Kidd as a coach which I find baffling considering his reputation but he must have done something right to beat that Phoenix team.
He’s a guy I used to follow bc he’s interesting but stopped bc he was wrong about stuff that I can’t remember now.
I think it’s possible Kidd was bad and got better? He was definitely bad (I’d hesitate to call him a genius now like this guy does), but the (bad, stupid) defense he ran in Milwaukee is not what he does now, and I think winning that Utah series with only 1 five man combination of scoring anything was a pretty good accomplishment.
I also think it’s wild that a team coached by Jason Kidd of all people is dead last in transition possessions.
I will admit I was super wrong about Kidd and the Mavs. Thought it’d be a disaster. His time in Milwaukee was hideous and what he was saying after the hire didn’t make me think he’d learned a ton. But clearly he has. Still as you said calling him a genius as that guy did seemed a step too far
Warriors doing about what they want and getting out in the open court has been good. Mavs mostly getting open shots too but Steph held up 1 on 1 with Luka twice
Looney has 6 points
I’m putting the o/u at 7
I’m pleased to see Mayor of Flavortown Guy Fieri in attendance
Well, hit the over
Draymond pretty mad at Poole for that lazy close out.
I am starting to think Steph’s shooting decline is real.
Both switching bigs with 3 fouls early. Stalemate.
Been keeping an eye on JP and his defensive awareness is really rough. Just doesn’t have a feel for where he needs to be next.
You what now?
I mean his numbers are down over like 90 games now. I never said he’d never play well again.
