Seems like most people have Michigan in the 10-15 range. Of course, this is before any roster announcements.

Allow me be the first to say:
Michigan too low
Too Low or Too High. I think top 25, but not top 15.
They’re all too high cause they all have Hunter coming back. I remember after 2019 we were top 5 in these cause they all had Iggy and JP returning and at minimum it was obvious Iggy was a goner
Interesting starting lineup from ESPN with McDaniel and Collins in the back court.
Explains a lot about how valuable these “way too early” lists are
These are VERY optimistic about certain guys returning from all over the country
Well, I guess they’re coming back…until they aren’t!
Obviously hard to say after us not living up to the hype but if we return dickinson, diabate and houston + add a solid guard/wing type i think this team should be top 5.
In hindsight, that preseason top 5 rank last year was absolute bogus lol. Like… we literally lost 4 dudes to the NBA and they just magically thought we’d be elite right out of the gate? I think having a high rank is only fair if you are returning a lot of guys.
a guard/wing combo player or two guys?
Arkansas next year is gonna be us this year assuming they lose Jaylin Williams and potentially Toney
Agree, especially after some of the reports from mcdaa game. Draft guys think this incoming class is really bad.
Had the same thought as well
That’s easy to say now but we returned three players that started on an elite 8 run and all averaged double digits in the tournament (Dickinson, Johns, Brooks) and one of them was a 2nd team All American. That was theoretically a nice core to add the #1 recruiting class to. Johns being completely useless instead of the 9ppg/4rpg 34% from three player he had been in 16 prior starts hurt a lot.
Doesn’t Mike DeCourcy work for Sporting News besides BTN/Fox?
I might be alone in this but I honestly think the preseason stuff wasn’t that off, it just assumed Dickinson would be an obvious first team all american, which wasn’t that crazy based on his freshman year and that Caleb Houstan would be a fringe lottery pick type, which wasn’t that crazy based on all the buzz on him.
Also assumed Brandon Johns would be a positive playable asset and we wouldn’t have two months where the four spot was a total mess with three options not playing well.
I was actually one of the ones who thought we should have been ranked higher but in retrospect, i simply underestimated just how good Livers and Franz. But I agree with you, a Johns merely playing at the same level he was last march and Houstan playing like the #8 prospect in the country would have merited that ranking.
