2021 NCAA Tournament Open Thread

Bonnies stunk up the joint offensively in the first half; nice of them to be equal opportunity joint stinker uppers by stinking up the joint defensively in the second.

Did LSU’s defense step up? Or were the Bonnies just missing shots?

I only saw the first half, but just in that half, I’m not sure I’ve seen a team pass up so many open 3’s for long 2’s in a single game. And, yes, I’ve watched several MSU games this year. They looked like they stepped out of a time machine from 1989.

This Alabama Iona game might be wild

I didn’t watch any of the second half - amazed that LSU got to 76 points in the end.

I’m thinking that, in one of the next couple of games, Alabama is going to run up against someone who is sound enough defensively - protect the rim reasonably well and not help off to allow wide-open 3’s - and efficient enough offensively to make Alabama pay for their overplaying and they’re going to get crushed. I don’t see them making the EE. Kind of like Loyola - Marymount when they went on their run in 1990. (Although the team that knocked them out, UNLV, was just plain real good.)

BJJ drawing fouls like Jimmy Butler out there.

EDIT: Wrong thread.

The Bonnies getting pasted by a subpar LSU team proves they were underseeded

JaQuori McLaughlin is my other Max Abmas. (Small school guard I like.) Plays for UCSB.

If anyone knows how to handle a team that’s 3-dependent, you’d think it would be Rick Pitino.

Iona is not afraid of Alabama

Everyone tune in to Tru TV. Creighton has two free throws with 16 seconds left down one.

Creighton player passed up an open 3 for a contested midrange jumper. Got bailed out by an Oreb and cheap foul

Wow. A 57% free-throw shooter drained both of them

Heartbreaking miss for UCSB. That sucks

why would you go up so softly like that?

How does UCSB not take a timeout there? You literally just had a timeout to discuss things and all five players looked surprised when the free throw was missed. Horrible coaching.
