So if (when) this USC lead holds, the conference rundown for the S16 will be:

PAC12: 4 (UCLA, USC, Oregon, Oregon St.)
SEC: 2 (Bama, Arkansas)
Big East: 2 (Villanova, Creighton)
ACC: 2 (Fla. St., Boeheims)
B1G: 1 (Yay)
BIG12: 1 (Baylor)
WCC: 1 (Zags)
American: 1 (Houston)
MVC: 1 (Loyola)
Summit: 1 (Oral Roberts)

As everyone predicted.

Woof, Kansas.

Kansas is the reality check reminder that no matter how much effort and how much, uh, recruiting acumen and how much fan attention and how many talented teams you produce, tournament results are never guaranteed.

So advance when you can.

Feel for Wiggins, but I don’t mind seeing morsell cry.

USC is one of those programs that always seemed like it could be good but never was. Maybe that’s finally changing.

It’s always felt weird to me that USC has a basketball team.

As a Michigan fan, I know a lot about blowing out Maryland so I feel qualified to say that this was quite the blowout.

Bama is going to be tough.

USC hired Mr. Mobley? I wonder if they got some heat for that like certain big ten football coach gets

Please don’t make me like you, Nate Oats.

(He seems quite personable and I like his jacket).

I agree with this completely. Always felt like they should be serious contenders nationally. Helps when you have a top 5 draft pick who’s uber productive in college and not just a high upside guy. Also helps when his brother is another very good player.

I’m finding this a little weird, though. I watched quite a few USC games, as they’re the last game of the night frequently. This is not the USC team I saw in the regular season. That team was so much more tentative and disjointed than this.

They were likely playing other PAC12 supermen, so sure they’d be tentative.

This is so bizarrely true

I seriously watched the pac 12 games and thought how lucky we were to have such a high quality brand of basketball in our conference :man_facepalming:

I believe Drew Peterson was briefly on Beilein’s radar

so when does the Big 12 come in for its spanking? only one team left and the rest of the league got absolutely starched

I’ve been wrong about everything else this tournament, but I would expect Baylor to carry their banner far, though.
