Yes, but Gonzaga’s offense at this point is mostly a bunch of layups off turnovers.
Don’t know if we’ve seen much of USC’s defense yet…

I’m not going to say anything negative about Gonzaga – they are totally awesome and obviously by far the best team in CBB this year. That said, there is no team in history that gets this many wide open layups without the other team contributing. Not saying USC stinks. Saying they stink tonight.

This season, they’re on the way to Final Four as a 1 seed. Here’s the results in the last few years
2019: Elite 8 as a 1 seed (underperform but not too bad)
2018: Sweet 16 as a 4 seed (met expectation)
2017: NC Runner up as a 1 seed (exceed expectation)
2016: Sweet 16 as a 11 seed (exceed expectation)
2015: Elite 8 as a 2 seed (met expectation)
I am not sure what you’re insinuating that they underperform. Last year, they probably would be at least a Sweet 16 as a 1 seed if it weren’t for the pandemic.

A stress-free game for Gonzaga isn’t what I was hoping for. USC needs to get serious and make these guys work for it.

I realize Gonzaga is on a different level than most/all teams in this tournament but that doesn’t mean they should just get a free layup every possession
Have they though? Maybe before 2015, but since then:
2015: 2 seed, KP #7, Elite Eight
2016: 11 seed, KP #21, Sweet Sixteen
2017: 1 seed, KP #1, Title game loss
2018: 4 seed, KP #10, Sweet Sixteen
2019: 1 seed, KP #2, Elite Eight
2020: KP #2, no tourney
2021: KP #1, 1 seed, at least Elite Eight.
Every year but 2019 they’ve at least met their seed and KP expectations

USC only has 7 turnovers? It’s seems like 20.
The question on the table was why Michigan fans on other sites were saying Gonzaga is overrated. In my opinion, this is why. Whether it’s accurate or not is actually irrelevant to the narrative.
It’s similar to the idea that Duke is always an early tournament exit. Obviously that’s factually untrue, but people remember the years they lost to Mercer and not the years they got the Final Four.
Man, if USC can keep this at 13 or so heading into halftime, that will be an accomplishment. Seems like they should be down 50.

USC has 7 TOs, and by my count 4 buckets off TOs. Gonzaga has 11 other buckets that aren’t off TOs.

I’m irrationally mad that Bonner keeps saying Isaiah “Mosley” but has no problem saying Evan “Mobley.” It’s driving me nuts. Please won’t someone join me.

They’re #6 in Kenpom, in the Elite Eight and just beat Oregon and Kansas by double digits. USC isn’t really f**king bad, they’re playing poorly but I’d wager a lot of that has to do with playing Gonzaga
